I am a server at a chain steakhouse and just started at a chain Tex-mex restaurant.

Do I like my job(s)?
Yes! I love serving. Especially when it is someone's birthday or another special occasion and everything goes perfect! When I get told by customers I give great service and that they'll ask for me again makes me feel great. You also make great money, I make up to 30 dollars an hour sometimes! (during peak business days)

I was a manager before and hated it so much. I had a literal neck beard of zits from stress, only made 10.00 an hour for always working my butt off and never getting credit for it because the GM wasn't there to see.... trading it in for half the hours and double the pay.

I'm glad you like your job. I wouldn't mind working as a server at some point.

I currently work for a very well-known company I'm not exactly fond of for ethical reasons. I'm still young, though, so I don't have a lot of choices. I have nothing against the people I work with (well, most of them), and I don't want to seem negative. In fact, I'm thankful there's at least one place that actually wanted to hire me.
I quit my previous position because it was inconceivably awful. However, they called me this morning to ask if I was still interested in working, so I went over there and switched positions. Hopefully this one's a lot better.

I work for a really well-known fast food chain. I’m usually a front cashier, but they’ve been having me work drive thru a little bit, too. I actually do like my job (though I have my complaints like anyone else). Previously I worked in the bakery department of a supermarket, and I’d missed interacting with customers way more than I thought I would. I did like the sense of autonomy I had at the supermarket, though, but there are trade-offs for everything. I had some trouble adjusting here at first because we get way busier than we did at my previous fast food job, and I’m working a different shift entirely, but I have been enjoying myself.

I hope you guys continue to like your jobs! Hating your job just makes it so hard to go in.

I work at Walmart in electronics and while the job itself is alright, management is really sub-par and I'm made to feel worthless. The store manager talks to me like I'm a child, moreso after he found out about my Autism. My department manager, however, is a real sweetheart, and I love working with him. Overall, if you can find another job, do it, do everything in your power to avoid Walmart. Your time is not appreciated. You are just another number to them.

I write about sports in a newspaper. Do I enjoy it? Yes. But it’s not my dream job. Still working towards that by trying to graduate university.

i'm currently unemployed as i'm focusing on the last few months of college, but before that i was a food and beverage assistant at LEGOLAND, serving food at the stalls in the park. i liked it as you didn't have to cook anything complex (just hot dogs or pasta at most) and the pay of 7.50 an hour was good for my age- customer service work for me doesn't require a brain cell, i find it a walk in the park. after college i'm planning to go into either retail or an apprenticeship.

I work for a large insurance company as a business analyst. It's a typical desk job. It pays well and I like the people I work with, but I wish I was doing something more creative, particularly writing.

My advice to everyone is to keep following your dreams. Don't let a temporary job meant to help pay the bills become a permanent way of life. Once you get trapped, it's hard to get out.

I work in the bakery department of a well known grocery store that only pops up in the Southern region of the US.

It's all right, I do like the people who I work with, for the most part (one of them has talked bad about me once, not even having the decency to say it to my face) and the customers aren't as much of a pain as they were when I first began. I have a reputation of being quick, esp with the hot case device items. Customers have called me nice and quick and such, so overtime people do start appreciating you. I only wish I got more hours. While I know this is the way of grocery stores, giving as little hours as possible, they treat me kinda badly. I've been working there for almost an entire YEAR and I've never gotten a full 40, the most I've been assigned to work was 35.25, and even thou I didn't clock out right on time, I never got more that an hour and half, AT MOST, over. So I ended up working 36 hours maybe, even less.

I'll get randomly asked to work days only if someone calls out, and they know I'm gonna accept it cause I get so few hours as it is. There was one time where my schedule was such crap, I got one day a work week for an entire month. There is no possible way anyone can make a living off of 60$ a week, so obviously I'm going to need a new job here soon, esp since I want to insure my car so I can legally drive it.

One piece of advice, NEVER quit your job until you absolutely without a doubt have a new one. Don't let your manager/management know you're looking for a new job. Once you get that new job, put in your 2 weeks notice, and 'smile and wave'. For anyone in a similar situation. It's their loss that they can't give you more time.

Right now I work at a small local grocery store, and I've been there for about two years so my pay is great compared to most people there because theyre relatively new. Its a friendly environment and not as hectic as an HEB or Walmart so i'm not stressed my whole shift. I love it.

i work at mcdonalds and i hate it so much why are old people so rude for no reason

I work at a startup that focuses on ad analytics. It’s actually a really good job and I like the company a lot, so no complaints here

It does. I hated my last job as a manager at a pizza place. Kept getting taken advantage of. I walked out LOL. Had a new job within 3 weeks, work less and make more money.

This old man was adamant that I stole his money and he goes "the money you stole from me is your tip have a good day"

I printed out the receipt and told him I could grab my manager... He said no. I took out my phone and did the math, and he was like "still keep it. have a good day"

BISH WHAT AND BISH WHERE. I DIDNT TAKE 4 DOLLARS FROM YOU. REGARDLESS THATS ONLY LIKE 5% OF THE BILL LMAO...? if I stole money I would have stole 20% LOL

but yeah you definitely have to have thick skin to do this job. its not for everyone lol

I work at a warehouse. It?s okay. Customer and coworkers are always nice to me except everyone I liked most is gone now and it?s been kinda depressing. They?ve been cutting my work hours as well so I may have to look for another job but I really don?t feel like it. :|

I work at Starbucks and I have a love-hate relationship. I can write a literal essay about why I love/don't like to work here.

I work at a music school except I haven't actually been to work in three months on account of my boss being unorganized and giving me no information.

I like the kids I work with but I don't like the school itself because, as I said, my boss is horribly unorganized and pays me like once every four months and gives me an hour notice of when I'm expected to be at work sometimes. Not to mention she gives the kids pieces that are way too hard for them, and I'm the one expected to teach them but I don't even get a say in what is appropriate for them to learn. She thinks her way is the only right way but in reality I'm pretty sure any of my music professors would keel over if they saw how she runs the school. Ugh I'm glad I haven't been in three months, I feel so angry just typing this out lmao

I work for a pretty large tech company, but probably not the first company you think of when you hear tech company. I work for specific terms throughout my degree, and I'm heading back at the start of May to work as a Cloud Software Engineer.
From previous terms I have worked there, I have enjoyed it a lot! The work environment is casual, the pay is good, and hours are flexible. You also get to work on things you're interested in, and learn as you go.
