I would say both are extremely serious. We should respect our wildlife and our domesticated animals like we respect other people. But what are you more passionate about? How some of our endangered species are going extinct, or how domesticated animals (especially farm animals) are being treated wrongfully? The poll is a tough one, but I made this to ask what would you prioritize more.

As much as I hate seeing animal cruelty (especially towards cats and dogs), I would care more about saving the endangered species such as elephants and rhinos. Did you know that there are only 67 Javan Rhinoceros left in the wold? Although they are conserving them right now, they are still so low in numbers. Elephants are serious too. They only breed one at a time with a 22-month gestation. Also, the endangerment of animals is not just limited to big species like tigers, rhinos, and elephants. It includes aquatic life. It's definitely not nice to keep hunting these animals. Besides, if you aren't after animal products, they do at least have use in the environment and for society. The predators can keep certain animal populations under control. Some have been used to pull shipping carts. If we don't save them now, we'll never see them again.

not sure how hunting wildlife to the point of (near) extinction or driving them out of their natural habitats or anything else isn't animal cruelty tbh

to me this just reads as "is selective animal cruelty or complete animal cruelty worse?"

animal cruelty imo
like endangerment and extinction is just part of how the world works

I would argue that in specific cases, Animal Cruelty. But, for a large scale thing... It's usually corporations and big businesses that do the majority of polluting/ecosystem destroying and such that causes thousands of species to walk that tightrope, whereas animal cruelty, at least as i've noted it recently, is mostly individuals or really bad zoos. Things that are more of a smaller district scale I think?

You can stop a couple of animal abusers at a time, or you can take out the horrid policies and practices of big wigs and save thousands.

So for an immediate, we should collectively focus on this need, I say Extinction.

I know there are some things endangering them that we can't control, but what we can control is hunting them. If you destroy stuff made of products from endangered animals or simply ban them, that would discourage hunting them.

They’re separate issues and it’s not the Olympics. You don’t need to put them against each other.

Animal cruelty, me thinks.

Extinction, as without those animal species existing, it could mess up the balance of populations in ecosystems.

This is like saying, do you want to stop violence against the elderly or prevent babies from dying. They're both horrible but one prevents something precious being lost forever. So it's clear that endangered species would be the priority. Plus animal cruelty only really focuses on captured/domesticated animals.

Wouldn't a species being endangered fall into the category of animal cruelty though? Like these both pretty much intersect in one way or another.

Separate issues both of equal seriousness.

However the extinction of bees would be detrimental on plant life, then ultimately affecting animals including ourselves

These are separate issues and one isn't more important than the other. Animal cruelty (any cruelty, including slaughtering animals for meat) is a huge issue for me but animals becoming endangered or going extinct is also incredibly important. Did you know that animal agriculture is actually the main cause of species extinction and endangerment? It destroys so many habitats - the Amazon rainforest, for example, is being destroyed in order to make room for farming.

Extinction, but I guess animal cruelty fits under that too. As for those animal "activists", start doing something real and stop reading PETA and attack innocent people.

I'd say endangered species even though both are equally as bad. I just feel like a species going extinct or is close to extinction can have negative effects on the world whereas animal cruelty only effects a singular animal (not that I don't agree that animal cruelty is really really bad though!!!)
