Which RS building is truly centered?

So I am resetting to start fresh for the update, and I'm torn between these two maps.

The top one looks centered with all of the airport but it looks like it would seem a square or two off to the right from the airport entrance, but the bottom one looks like it would be centered with the actual entrance of the airport (which is what I'd like) but I honestly can't tell which one would be centered properly. Can anyone help me out?

I don't think either of those are centered. In fact, I think there's only one or two layouts, maybe three, in the game where they're actually centered with each other.

But, the top one is likely the most centered between the two.

Ah really? They both appear to be centered though...I really like the bottom map but I'm torn, especially because I won't properly be able to tell for a while until the RS is fully built

Yeah, unfortunately. I wanted a centered layout, too, but after a while I quickly realized it greatly limits my selection, and barely any map is actually centered.

Ended up going for the 'far away' maps in the end. But as I said, I'd say the top pic is the most centered.

it's pretty hard to tell because my town hall building is upgraded, but mine is center with the airport exit. i think your bottom map is your best bet (between the two choices).

here's a ss of what mine looks like, maybe it's helpful somewhat (i didn't purposefully choose it so i suppose i got lucky).

edit : also pls don't be mad if i'm wrong ab the bottom map lol

Yeah that's what makes it hard to tell, not being able to see what it will look like upgraded

lol I won't be mad. I think either way I just have no way to really know. I like the map otherwise so idk if I should just go for it. I'd just hate to have to restart again if it's not what I want

I reset for a centered RS map recently and the tip to know if it is centered when you enter the map is by putting weeds and counting them. The resident services plaza is 12 squares wide and the upgraded RS will be smack in the middle of it so the door space (2 spaces) will be smack in the middle of the 12 square wide plaza (so you will want an airport that aligns with the 6th and 7th square of your plaza). You can also tell it is centered when you go straight up from your airport to the plaza and you should be face to face with Nook because he stands at the middle of it.

My original island has the second layout and if I recall, RS is offset by one space from the airport entrance but if you have the leading path 4 spaces wide, it covers it nicely and doesn’t cause too much issue with discomfort.

it’s a really nice layout, there is a lot you can do with that centre island (I had my museum moved to the base of the cliff and then had a rock garden above and behind.
I had my house nestled between the pond and the curve on the river on the left which works really nicely too.
