In my opinion it's either Smash 4 or Brawl, I don't mean the time it takes to connect to a random player or the lag and br oken characters, but having the option to choose what kind of match you want play and changing your characters without having to leave the room. There's so many players that were fun to play against, but I had to leave to change characters, since I like using them all and it gets boring for me sticking to only one. I also don't like how matches are randomized. Sometimes I'm in the mood for 1 vs 3, but I get thrown into a team battle. Other than that, I like Smash Ultimate in every other aspect.

Melee netplay all the way.

Jk Smash 4

For Glory in Smash 4 was great. You knew what you were going into and there was no chance of some random with 1Kb internet with all items on making you sit through a 5 minute match that lasts 30 minutes. I do appreciate the ranking system in Ultimate, though. In all honesty, no Smash games have really had a "good" online experience yet. Maybe in another decade or two Nintendo will learn :lemon:

Definitely Smash Bros. on the Wii U. Smash Ultimate online is still really bad. You can't change characters if you decide to rematch, can't have local couch co-op in the arena lobbies, can't set your own nickname to tell yourself apart easier and can't choose stages in the random matchups. They really took a step backwards in that area. It's really sad because it's the best Smash game except in that area.
