White picket fences

I just got access to fences yesterday. I was looking forward to white picket fences. I remember quite vividly it was something shown in previous trailers. I only got normal (unpainted) picket fences. Is there a way to customize them, because it's the same model, but white that I want !

I have tried to paint my normal picket fences like the ones you got after Tom Nook gave them to me recently, and it did not allow this option. I thought maybe I should buy more paint stuff, and yet that didn't work at all. I have the sinking feeling that you can't make it white. But that doesn't make any sense, especially with the crafting mechanic of the game. It's really frustrating. I don't know, I've asked a handful of people who have time traveled and gone way farther into the game and apparently this does not change even after you earn the terraforming abilities.

And I see all the different fence options in the Nook Miles redemption catalogue, yet I doubt they would create a whole new recipe for a different color of the same style. I don't understand why this isn't an option. If anyone else has successfully changed it, please do let me know how to do so as well. White picket fences will go much better with the aesthetic of my house than unpainted.

Yeah! I think I saw those too! I'm going to have to go back and find a screenshot now. Maybe it's not completed or maybe it was something forgotten to patch in. I dunno but it's kind of grating.
