Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.
Friday just marked my one-month anniversary in game, and I was wondering who else might be on a newish Island at the moment.
I never really got to play much in 2020, and I figured most people were pretty much already over the game here—but then I’ve recently been seeing a good amount of posts that seem to indicate otherwise:
So, who all just started, or is planning to start soon? I’d love to potentially find some people to play—or even just share the excitement of early gameplay—with! 🏝
EDIT: I wanted to respond properly to everyone, but things have been crazy since the weekend! Still reading all comments and happy to see so many people starting out alongside me
I started playing with my main island in February, but started my 2nd Island just over a month ago. It's better second time around, as I felt I rushed it first time as I was desperate to get K.K. It's been nice to enjoy the journey this time and take my time planning house plots and shops. Tomorrow, will mark K. K.'s first appearance on my 2nd island!
How are you getting on with your island? @Fey If you need any fruit, crops or anything else please don't hesitate to DM me, I have a lot of stuff in my storage!
I'm restarting today, so it's gonna be a REALLY early stage for me! I hope you're enjoying it so far! I'm dropping off some starter stuff on my friends island first. This time though, I want to take it really slow.
I can 100% sign off on taking it slowly. Obviously everyone’s play style and goals are different, but it’s just what’s always worked best for me. I did something crazy this time around and actually waited to fill the first three plots until I found villagers I’d really want to keep. It meant spending almost two weeks looking, but I ended up with three Dreamies and couldn’t be happier!
I reset a few weeks ago, and I am still on day 2 progression-wise. I just really love the starter vibe and the music in the beginning is so relaxing. I also tried to find 3 dreamies this way, but gave up after finding Shino (dreamie) because I just got the same villagers on the mystery islands, 5-6times at most, so I just chose Skye and Sherb as temporary starters for when I am ready to continue onwards.
Just relaxing and fishing and catching bugs for now, really enjoying the slow pace of it. It is awesome. ^_^
I recently got a new Switch to start a new island. I've unlocked the terraforming but I'm still tryin to plan out my island layout, so most of the island is untouched atm, besides the random furniture & flowers I out out to get 5 stars.
I ended up unlocking K.K. at 4 stars thou. Thought it had to be 5. Oh well.
I played ACNH from around release date up until now on the same island. I love my original island, and I don't see myself ever resetting it, but I've found myself pretty content with the villagers on my island and the island decorations (except my house actually), so I've not been playing much, as there isn't really much to do. It's not perfect, but I don't think it was ever going to be, and I still love it!
Since I have another Switch, I started up a second island while still preserving my original island! It's up to day four in-game (day three in real time), and I have been loving it a lot! I'm really enjoying completing the Nook Miles achievements to gather Nook Miles, achieving the in-game goals, and documenting my progress in the early stages of the game!
Hi I also just recently restarted and I’m just on the fifth in game day! My peppy is moving in today. I’m also taking it very very very slow on this island. Also planning on keeping it default like I might not do a lot of theming and terraforming on this island at all I’ll just play it as simply as I could. I’m really enjoying the game again so far.
I started yet another island a couple of weeks ago.I came up with this odd town concept back in the New Leaf days but for whatever reason it never came together back then.I thought that I would try it again in New Horizons and see if things turn out differently.
i restarted my island last week, i actually took a long break from new horizons since i was very frustrated and bored with it. when i decided to play again i restarted my island. i love my new island’s layout, and the game is so much better if you play a little bit everyday instead of time traveling forward imo
Oh, hi Fey! Good to see around again! I am planning on restarting sometime in the future, too! This time i am going to stick to my rule of no time travel as that what caused me to want to restart my island.

Obviously everybody has a different play style, but this is what’s worked best for me too! I also tend to play for several hours a day already, so time traveling really wouldn’t be feasible for me anyway. Because the early game is one of my favorite parts of AC, I don’t mind waiting for things to unlock and build slowly over time.

Hey, nice being greeted! I came back after restarting a bit over a month ago, and now had to restart yet again because my Switch was stolen. Crazy times. Maybe we could meet up sometime if you have a new Island too—trade items or something.
That’s cool, I’m excited for you discovering the game for the first time! Seeing my Island grow even just over the course of a few weeks was an incredible source of joy and accomplishment. There’s lots of neat Islands and nice players out there—I hope you have fun with the game and on the forums here

I definitely get where you’re coming from, the starting music has such a tranquil, classic AC vibe. The hourly songs are nice too, but some definitely a bit less so than others (looking at the much too funky 5 PM tune).
You’ve also got incredible starters imo—wouldn’t call that “giving up” at all if that’s who you ended up with!

I’m always impressed by people who have actually “finished” an Island! Curious to know what you’re planning for the new one, if you have a theme, Villagers in mind etc.

YES I always love to see a good pic—strong early-game vibes!
What’s this crazy concept you have in mind? Personally I’m still chasing after an old goal as well, which is just having a nice, unthemed Island with distinct areas.

It’s nice seeing that so many people are taking it slow—or at least planning too! I feel like everybody was in a rush to get ahead or not fall behind back around the release date. Now it’s much more chill.
I’m planning on terraforming…eventually. I have ideas, but I really just want to enjoy my map as it is for a while. I chose one I love, and have been having fun developing its natural strengths for now!
I restarted my themed island a couple of days ago and I got the perfect map, blue airport, peaches as main fruit and got roses on my first shop trip soo blue breeding is under way.
I love the beginning of the game so much and soo far I am enjoying this play through so much better.
I didn't recently restart, but my guy left his switch behind when we were away at a cabin, and we went back and we couldn't find it..? So I guess someone took it... He had it longer then me, and it was really sad to loose all his progress. esspecially how he found all of his horses on islands, and not amiibo. Also loosing all his favorites, and friendships with them. Previously had Winnie, and she was his first Peppy, and he kinda grew to really like the horses because of her. So he decided on a horse island. So loosing Winnie was pretty sad. His island was adorable, and really pretty too. But its been a few weeks, and he decided to try it again, after getting a new one.
So far the only horses he has are Buck, Chloe (The purple one I think thats her name), Roscoe and spent many tickets getting Winnie again (Sucess ♡). But He's working on getting all the horses back via island hopping. Then re-create his old fairy core island, at least thats his goal. Gonna take awhile, but were determined, and its kinda weird/cool to see an island from scratch. Gonna be fun getting all those mushroom lamps again lol.

I love the beginning too—the laid-back pace and all the potential ahead. Being forced to restart because my Switch was stolen initially felt less satisfying, but I’m only on Day 2 and already getting into the spirit of a fresh start again!
Good luck with your new Island btw. I got Peaches and Roses as well this time—I was always partial to Windflowers before, but I’m also down to get an early start on breeding those rose hybrids.

Aw I’m so sorry that happened to him too—my own Switch was stolen last weekend, so I know how devastating it can be too lose all your hard work and animal friends. Really glad to hear he was able to get back into the game too! I wish him the best of luck reestablishing his Fairy Horse Island ♥
I reset my town last week! Mostly because I couldn't change my name, but also because there are somehow a lot of mental barriers for me that come with a town that has been abandoned for a while. In that time around release where AC:NH was the only thing I had going on, it was excruciating having everything build up so slowly, but the second time around it has been really nice! That same song every hour of the day is starting to get to me, though. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice song, but I can't listen to it for longer than an hour at a time. I believe I'm getting the town hall tomorrow, though, so I'm looking forward to unlocking the soundtrack!
I see people here resetting a lot to get the perfect layout, fruit and starters and stuff, and I admire that kind of dedication. Personally though, I don't have it! I like to roll with the punches, and learn to love the villagers that are on my island. I've been a big fan of Ursala, she always looks so concerned, but has the most casual way of speaking.
I would love to play some multiplayer again, too!
I've have the game since Januray, but I've just got Totakeke to play on my island this morning. I'm either extremely late, or still haven't been able to complete the storyline (take your pick). My interest was on other AC games, and just other games, in general, so I haven't spent nearly as much time as many others, here.
I am pretty far in, but I've been considering restarting from the beginning. I miss the early stages and figure I could do some things better this time around and reprogress much faster now that I know the ins and outs. But I'm very attached to my island.
Newbie here! I'm in the first week, having a good time piling up critters outside whilst waiting for museum construction. I definitely enjoy a slower, wandering game. I don't have a grand plan as I like just going with the flow and seeing how it evolves.
