Who are your permanent villagers?

I am wondering, for those of you who have permanent villagers--ones you would never, ever boot out--which villagers are they?

After playing NH since early May, these are the villagers that I'm finding I can't part with.

*Colton--He's the perfect smug, imo. Every line of smug dialog sounds great coming from him. And he wears all the posh clothes and crowns with panache. So royal.
*Skye--She's such a lovable dork, dorkier than many of the normals. "Airmail" has to be one of the randomest catchphrases ever.
*Carmen--I keep thinking of booting her but then I can't. She's a great peppy rabbit and her expressions are perfect.
*Wolfgang--I love all the cranky wolves and Wolfgang has a great design and a gorgeous house.
*Dobie--He's adorable and I love his retired detective-looking house.
*Poppy--She's super cute and her house is beautiful.
*Muffy--She's got the best gothic house and is so cute. The sisterly dialogue sounds right coming from her.
*Genji--His design is amazing and his house is so fancy. I can't believe a jock would have such a gorgeous house, but I'll take it.
*Ankha--I like many snooty villagers, and Freya and Whitney are close runners-up, but Ankha's frowny face is just the best.

I’ve managed to fill my island with dreamies thanks to owning the amiibo cards, and at this point I don’t think any of them are allowed to leave! They are:

Ozzie: Found him on a Nook Miles island early on in the game. He was pretty adorable and even though I didn’t want him permanently, he grew on me.
Coco: Also found her on a NM island. Was never one of my favorites, but she grew on me too. That lack of eyes is pretty enticing lol
Vic: One of my long time villagers from New Leaf. He’s a bro.
Sylvana: She’s so tiny and smol and just a cute little bean
Bones: I like the look of him & his house, and he’s really cute to have around!
Ketchup: Adorable and tiny. Also, who wouldn’t want a cute little tomato duck?
Teddy: I needed a jock & a bear for the cottagecore area of my island.
Deirdre: I love the deer villagers, and she’s one of the only uchis who fits my ~ aesthetic ~
Eugene: I had him right off the bat in NL, and he’s a pretty funky guy. I also like how silly he looks without those glasses on. Also, I pretty much hate the smug villagers, and he’s the only one I can really tolerate.
Vivian: Needed a snooty villager, and I think she’s pretty cool. She was the first one to give me her picture, so she’s got that going for her haha.

I don't think anyone is really permanent but these are the ones that are going to be sticking around for a long time

Diana - She is very beautiful and I love her house. She reminds me of an elegant lady. She was one of the first 10 and was a random move in.
Cranston - I think he has the best designs of the lazies. I love the ostrich villagers and how unique their designs are
Tank - He was my starter jock and I only kicked him out the first time so I can get his original house. I manage to find him on a mystery island again about a month or two later. A rhino makes prefect sense for a jock.
Pashmina - Super cool sisterly and her hobby is music which is my favorite of the hobbies. If I was going to replace her, I would replace her with Reneigh who I did have in before.
Marshal - Super cute squirrel. I have both him and Raymond and I thought I was going to keep them both but I'm going to hold onto Marshal and let Raymond go

My permanent villagers are all cats, as I'm going for an all cat themed island:
Lolly, Raymond, Rosie, Merry, Bob

I'm been perfectly happy with all my villagers after I found my final dreamie in my campsite a couple months ago. I don't plan on letting any of them go.

They are: Kiki, Julian, Derwin, Shep, Cyd, Blanche, Frobert, Merengue, Mira and Audie.

A nice balance of personalities, colour schemes, species and popularity. I've also grown really close with each of them.

I also got most of my dreamies thanks to the amiibo cards. Most of these villagers are from NL and I chose to take them to NH with me

Marina, Octavian, Zucker: I adore all the octopus villagers and have all their amiibo cards. With the octopus being my favorite animal, they are permanent residents. <3 I got Marina as a random move-in in NL and I nearly screamed. Octavian had also been a villager on my second gamecube town, so he's been there since the beginning for me! Zucker is completely new as I haven't moved him into my NL village yet.
Drago: I thought his design was so cool. I got him as a random move-in in NL, and he's been with me ever since. Was so happy to bring him with me to NH.
Ankha: I got her as a camper in NL and fought tooth and nail to have her move in. I unsuccessfully moved her in with my main villager and second character, so I made a third account and got her to move in. Was also taken to NH thanks to getting her amiibo card later.
Julian: The one who got away in NL. Moved right out of the blue. I was heartbroken; he was my first favorite villager to move to my town when I started NL. Also got his amiibo later on.
Francine and Chrissy: Love, love, love the bunny sisters! They're the only dreamies I found while villager hunting on island tours. While looking for Judy, I found Francine in about 20 tickets. Immediately I knew I had to get Chrissy too, and once I was finally able to get Phoebe to move out, I found her in just SIX TICKETS! I thought I'd be hunting forever, but the RNG gods were on my side that evening lol!

I’m still not completely certain who my ‘final’ ten permanent villagers will be.
For now - Genji, Bangle, and Tabby are pretty certain permanent villagers. Even though I kind of wish bangle and Genji had their real houses, I’m too attached to let them go even to get them in real houses with amiibo or something.

Flurry seems like she is probably, if not permanent, then very long term. I didn’t think of her as a favorite exactly (wish she did not have that sort of ‘winter’ design which I generally don’t like. But I love hamsters and have gradually realized that I just love her, I always like gifting her and taking pictures of her and talking to her...so if she did leave it would probably be just to go to my other island. But even that seems unlikely right now.
Agnes and Cole - two more favorites. I love them both so much! They are only separated because I have had them for a shorter time, so a little less crazily attached. But it is unlikely I will let them go. Especially Cole who I just love miles more than any other lazy, plus he seems to be bffs with Tabby. Agnes is the only villager I ever moved in by amiibo (so I could give Kiki to my friend) but I have not regretted it (I don’t generally like using amiibo cards cause I find it less of a fun way to get villagers) She’s a joy to have running around my island.

Maggie, Soleil, and Ike - I love these three. Maggie and Ike were moved in with the full intention of being non-permanent. Soleil is one of my favorite snooties, but brand new, so we shall see. Snooty and cranky are my least favorite personalities, so these types tend to be easier for me to let go. I did not expect to like Ike, but I have gotten crazy attached though - he’s so cuddly! And Maggie is just the sweetest - and I love the pig villagers with their cute little tum tums.

And finally -
Graham - I let graham move, but only to my husband’s island. But I really do miss him and am not sure any smug can replace him. May move him back in the future.

so anyway...things are getting kind of locked in on Wailea, despite my best intentions! I don’t like to box myself in with any unnecessary rules, and I plan to play this game for a long time, so I imagine/ hope the lineup will always have a little flexibility. I’m buying amiibo cards as backup in case of regrets in the future too.

It'd be Peewee, Reneigh, and Tiffany. The two I'm questioning are Cole and Rory? They're both strong maybes.

Sprocket, Raymond and Chadder are my “triple stars” and I will never let them leave. Groucho is also probably a permanent resident at this point because I can’t imagine having a different cranky now. He looks a little uncertain about everything; I want to protect him.

Nearly all of my other villagers are long term too, if not permanent. I’m attached to them all, yet I also want to have some different villagers around, so I’m not sure. Special note goes to Cranston, who is supposed to be a temporary villager, but ended up being such an adorable birb that when I needed room for Chadder, I couldn’t bring myself to move him out. I like the ostriches, it seems.

 

[Purities]

I’ve almost gotten all of my dreamies apart from two!
Kabuki- I really love zen style /japanese inspired everything and my town is a reflection of that, so he fits right in. I also had him in new leaf and absolutley adored him, he’s the only cat i really like which is ironic bc i love cats irl

Skye- shes such a dork!! she’s adorable too. i love her house and it’s so corny but seeing her walk around makes me so happy, she’s the cutest to take pictures with too!

Dobie- i’m not so sure why i adore him so much but he is by far one of my favourite villagers and favourite from the new game he’s a wolf which i love and he’s so cute and dark gray- like an old man walking through the garden i just adore him.

Beau- i also had him in new leaf and he was my absolute favourite. i knew i couldn’t go a game without him. working on getting him a girlfriend- fauna!! hehe. they remind me so much of me and my boyfriend ^_^

Marshal- i was actually lucky enough for him to be the first camper to visit my campsite and i had him in new leaf too. he’s a very popular villagers but he’s just a. staple for me really, he’s so tiny and cute!

Sherb is permanent. He's just adorable and since there's no amiibo card for him currently, I won't let him leave since he'd be hard to get back. Dom is permanent for the same reason. I found him in my campsite luckily and I won't be letting him go. Rosie is permanent because I love her design and I made her a clifftop estate filled with pink/purple themed items. I can't imagine her leaving my island. Her estate is right behind my house, lol. I think the only other permanent villager I have is Tangy. She also has a clifftop estate, although it's smaller than Rosie's. I have the orange end tables and the orange clothes closet outside her house because they fit her aesthetic so well.

I currently have Marshal and Julian but I'd trade either for Raymond if I could find him. Especially Marshal, since I have his card and I can call him back whenever I missed him.

The only 100% permanent villager I have is Maple. I have Fauna and Marshal who are also my faves but there are definitely others who I'd like to have on my island if I came across them. I like a bit of variety!

Probably Sherb, Raymond, and Audie since I like them all a lot and they don't have amiibos yet.

I think I will probably keep Poppy and Lolly too, but I do have their amiibos. There are more normal villagers I want to try, so it may just depend on how many normals I can have at one time before they are too repetitive.

Dobie - i had no idea he is such a popular villager! But he just really appeals to me as a grandpa wolf haha also he expands my island's age demographics lol

the four "visiting" are ankha, ed, zell and henry, who's going to my girlfriend's town when he asks to move out again. they'll eventually be replaced by punchy, marshal, lolly and coco. a lot of them were in one of my two NL towns and there isn't really a specific reason behind any of them, i just think they're all cute. the lazies were really endearing in NL which is likely why i had so many (felyne and stitches on top of the ones already mentioned) and i don't mind their personality in NH (although it's not as good) so i carried a lot of them over.

Wolfgang is my always permanent villager because he's my favorite. Currently in my town, Ruby and Vesta are also going to be staying long term, if not, forever. The other 7 can go as they please. I simply get too bored only keeping the same villagers around constantly, especially when there's hundreds of villagers to experience. Feels like a wasted opportunity to only keep the same ones all the time.
