Hi!
So this is a question I have been wondering about, who exactally delivers the mail on our islands? The other games make it pretty clear that it is Pelly, Pete, and Phyllis delivering the mail. However in NH I don’t think it is clear on who exactly does it? Is it Orville or Wilbur? Maybe even Tom Nook or Isabelle??

What are your thoughts?

Pete delivers the mail, but as per his contract he can't be seen. He has to spend the rest of the day hiding in the Dodo port broom closet. He's only allowed daylight once a day. It used to be two times, but it was a take it or leave it option.

Or the Dodo's catapult the letters into your mailbox. Which is why sometimes it takes a while to get the Nintendo and special mom letters that are delayed. They overshoot their target and they have to call FedEx to tell them the package was lost.

I've also always imagined Orville delivered the mail in NH because he's who you talk to when sending letters so I just presume once you've written the letter he then delivers it or when villagers write letters to you I imagine they do it at airport and Orville delivers them. I've always thought that Tommy/Timmy deliver mail from the Nook Shopping app though, I imagine when you place the order it is delivered to the shop first and then they deliver the order to you while Nooks Cranny is closed.

I guess its Wilbur that delivers the mail considering the fact that Pete is nowhere to be found in the game. Kinda disrespectful because every AC game had a post office but for whatever reason they replaced it with a card stand at the airport.

They could have easily
Used Pete. I loved seeing him around. I wish we could see Orville come around and deliver mail. I think it might be Orville.

Wilbur, Orville, Blathers, Tom Nook, and Isabelle work 24/7. It's not them.

That leaves Timmy and Tommy.

Resetti does it when not handling rescues. His job is pretty busy, between 4:59 AM and 5 AM he has to:

1. Deliver your mail;
2. Place all four new fossils on the island;
3. Pick a location for the glow spot;
4. Reset your rocks and
5. Put the snowballs somewhere in the winter.

He's overworked. Send help.

He has his brother Don helping.

Ah, that explains the dirt stains on my packages. I tried calling the rescue hotline to speak with customer service, but I was told that I’d need to be outside. Poor customer service, 1/10.

Pete wanted to escape the fame, so he chose to remain anonymous and unseen in New Horizons.😛

Anyone else think the airport might be upgraded in the future with a little post office area? I don't see it moving away from the airport to town hall again like in the true Animal Crossing games. New Leaf experimented with a proper post office but I didn't enjoy it as much as seeing Pelly or Phillys in the town hall.

I always assumed that Wilbur or Orville delivered it since they're the ones who handle sending letters to villagers and other players 😁

According to Nookipedia:

The player is limited to sending a maximum of 100 letters to villagers and 40 to other human residents in a single day, after which Orville mentions that he is getting overwhelmed, and he will not accept any more until the following day.

I'll never send that many letters so I can test it myself, but it's a good guess to say that Orville at least handles almost all the process. Maybe he just handles the office work and Wilbur is the one delivering the letters/gifts. I vote for "brothers doing the work together".

As curious as I am to who delivers mail I am much more concerned to who keeps entering my house every weekend with the happy home program

Maybe it's Lyle, who worked back in New Leaf for the Happy Home Program and just became now one of these unseen characters in NH.

Speaking of him, this kinda reminds me of that one comic:

Coming back to the thread's topic, I would say either Orville or Wilbur taking care about the letters. I would have said Pete, but he probably stayed with Pelly and Phyllis, wherever they are now.
