I think I'll be buying 8 packs and trading the cards here. But I wonder how many people will actually be actively trading on the forums?

Also curious if people will also be mix and matching their trading, as in trading series 5 cards for previous series like 1 - 4, Sanrio, or Welcome amiibo.

If I'm actually able to find packs in my area (Canadian retailers are notoriously bad at having stock of niche items), I'd probably be up for it... the issue is I'm not particularly fond of giving out my address to people I met online.

I'm not 100% sure on if I'm going to buy these cards yet or not, but if I do, I will trade my duplicates. I kinda hope Target restocks on series 1-4 on the same day so I can get some of those as well.

I do already have an unneeded set of Sanrio cards, so I won't have my trading limited to season 5.

I’m still filling out Series 2-4, so we’ll see what I still need come S5. And what demand looks like for them - If they end up as rare as Welcome Amiibo, that’ll probably impact what I’d trade dupes for.

Yeah, giving out an address is pretty iffy. I did it to complete my current collection and thankfully nothing bad happened. I was pretty picky about who I traded with though. And I've moved since and actually opened up a PO box since I now live in an apartment so it's safer for packages to arrive where someone can receive them for me. So I feel much more safe doing it this time around.

I'll try to get some packs and will be trading on here for sure. I don't mind trading series 5 with other series.
I'm also in Canada btw. 1 problem I ran into on trading is sometimes people would only trade within US and not with their northern neighbours :(

Same. It's not free, like my mailbox outside my house, but I like the safety. Not only for me, but for my mail. I have all of my mail go there so I have to go there at least once a week to empty my box, but my post office is a fairly close drive for me so it's not a big deal.

It's mostly because shipping would be more expensive. In the US, you can put a single first class forever stamp on an envelope and send an amiibo card anywhere else in the US. A single stamp is not enough postage to go to Canada.

Well, that and people are intimidated by sending things international and don't understand postal rules and pricing.

I know, it works the same way in Canada, it's just a bit sad the US has a larger population so more people to trade with where as we Canadians have to rely on you guys. We are in a dependant amiibo trading relationship for sure 😔

also I find it kinda funny I actually know more about US postal rules than Canadian ones lol

I'd like to trade them on here. How does that work exactly, though?

On this forum, under the threads called Animal Crossing, you will see:
Animal Crossing amiibo Card Post Office
Here is the link: https://www.belltreeforums.com/forums/animal-crossing-amiibo-card-post-office.157/

Read the rules, etc, then check out how the folks on there make their posts. LF means Looking For; FT means For Trade.

I liked to make lists under Series #'s. Also, so much easier if the card number and name of the character are posted together.

These tips will make more sense as you look at people's posts, I hope.

Happy hunting, and might see you there!

I really want to get my hands on a Shino card, just so that I can have her in the game. I’m hoping that by buying a few packs I’ll either get her (good enough chance with such a small number of villages included this time) or get other popular villagers that people might want to trade her for.

So I’ll put this out there: if anyone gets Shino and would be willing to trade or even just swap temporarily for scanning, please keep me in mind ♥

I’ll definitely be trading. Still trying to get the rest of the rv amiibo cards as well. I just hope I’ll be able to find some packs and the scalpers don’t get them all. :/

To all of those who want the cards, I have a feeling scalpers will take them all if they can so just beware.

I have the feeling they will take them all by the time I get to my nearest target. If anything, I hope some people will release those small Amiibo cards on Amazon so I can get those. I want Shino on my island soon.

I really wish they would stop scalpers. I wonder if pre ordering is the only way?

I successfully completed series 1-4 by trading here on the forum, so I'll definitely be trading again for series 5!

Definitely! I don’t have the money to try for every card, though. I’ll probably get about half if I can snag packs at all. I had a great experience trading here before the WA update dropped and I’m hoping to do it again.

I'll be trading here! I had a great experience trading on here with the 1-4 cards, and have plenty of those and some Sanrio left over! The people on the trading board were very nice and professional, and always gave proof before sending a trade. Not to mention that you have the ratings system which helps to cut all the way back on scammers. TBT, from my experience, is one of the best places to trade amiibo cards online. The other best place I traded was the amiiboswap subreddit, but that was shut down a long time ago, so I'll be trading mostly here to complete my series 5 set. :)
