Why arent the trees growing?

I think it could be because there's a limit to how many trees can be planted in an area?

Ugh I really hope this isnt the case x.x will they eventually grow when the other trees mature? Or should I just move full grown trees?

Or maybe create and extra tile row of space between two tree lines?

Why isn't the game showing dead saplings, instead of planted saplings that just don't grow? This would inform the player that the tree cannot grow where they planted it - they'll figure out why (like in past versions). This seems like an oversight. I am noticing lots of little things that seem lazy or left out, as if they rushed to get this out trying to meet the announced released date, after years of coding amazing detail in most other areas.

You can let them grow at another place and when they are big you dig them up and plant it wherever you want. I did the same thing and it works just fine.
When they don't grow it's beause there is not enough space.

Actually this is a good thing because you can replant the saplings without losing it. If they would die you couldn't use them anymore. I think it's an improvement

Possibly if I move the sapling itll grow? That way it doesnt die and you lose the tree you just have to move it somewhere else.

Agree, I accidentally planted a tree next to a house on the first day and to my surprise it was still there the next day and I could shovel it up and move it without it dying.

If your trees won't grow maybe try grow it somewhere else and then uproot the tree and move it where you want later?
I don't think anyone knows how the tree orchards work yet.

There is minimum of two spaces between trees for them to grow (one free space on each side of each tree).

they're all too close :D

Try eating some fruit, and then digging up trees with a shovel. You may be able to get the orchard the way your want it.

So I'm being told they're too close to each other but other people are saying I cant plant more than a certain amount of trees in an area... which is it?

Both, technically. Too many trees in one area what I meant when I said too close.

Let us know if you can use a shovel, and manually place fully grown trees there. That would be interesting.

Done that in my town, you can move fully grown trees with only one free space between them, they'll be just fine, and still produce fruit!

Awesome. The moving trees thing has been really cool so far. The second day I played I was bringing back fully grown palm and cedar trees to my town from the random islands. It almost feels like cheating, like using the hacked tree "seeds" in Wild World.

Yeah I can move fully grown trees just fine to these spots! I'm gonna be fenangling with it for a few days to see what happens when the trees that ARE growing end up growing.

Ive had this issue as well, I planted some coconut trees on the beach and they still haven't grown, I don't understand why

At first, I was kinda confused and kinda annoyed about this, but then I realized that trees can't die, which is a good thing. Maybe you might have to wait an extra day to see your tree grow after you replant it, but I think it's better than losing a tree b/c it died.

I expericed my tree not going when I put it a little too close an edge.

I've posted this in the question page. I did have a extra space between rows (the fully grown trees have been placed as fully grown).
So i guess if you want rows like this it's best to just move trees instead of growing them?

plant them somewhere else then once fully grown eat fruit and move them to where you want

Interesting! Yeah I'm gonna just move my trees. I plan on having an extra space around each row similar to yours eventually, I just didnt have enough room for that (gotta wait for terraforming).

Guess I'll just wait for trees to grow then use fruit to move em over!
