Why do the cats in Animal Crossing have no nose?

I have been playing Animal Crossing for almost 9 years and I still don't get it.

Why do cats have no nose?? Is it like an anime style or something? And if that's the case then why do like dogs still have a nose?

Like the dogs and koalas and cows and all of those animals have a nose! I wouldn't say that birds count because they don't have a clearly visible nose.

But like the cats are super creepy because they flaunt their noselessness all the time.

Even Rover makes a remark about it on ACNL!!!

Quite a few of them do have noses. Just in ACNL alone there's Felicity, Kiki, Merry, Mitzi, Moe, Rudy, Tabby, and if you want to count Katie she has one too.

Otherwise I guess they just decided the rest look better without one and honestly I agree.

Well I'm trying to draw a cat villager for someone but when I draw it without a nose it looks stupid. I don't understand why they would even think it looks cute because I think it looks ridiculous xD
