I've completed several transactions and only one person has left a rating for me. Either people don't know about it, but for me it's very tricky just to go through the steps to leave a rating. It needs to be simplified and easier to access.

I have no idea where to go to leave a rating. I feel bad when I do a trade with someone and not give feedback. I've looked for it but can't find anywhere to comment. From the sound of it maybe I need to look harder for it.

EDIT: nevermind misread. very sorry. ingore what I said, I need some coffee. it's not adding anything to the discussion.

My understanding is that you go to the person's profile, then click the Wi-Fi Rating tab on the right hand side of the page, and then underlined there is a link that says "Submit Feedback For [Username]"

I have yet to trade on here though.

I don't think it's due to people finding it complicated/not knowing about it - but simply that they're just not doing it. I have the same issue as a seller on eBay - buyers are sometimes lazy and just don't bother to leave feedback.

When I finish a trade on here, the first thing I do is leave feedback. They should get a PM notification of it, which should also serve as a little reminder/prompt to do the same. :)

For example, I clicked on Unidentified Floor Orange name, got their profile, looked for wi-fi rating, clicked on that, then you have to click on the BOLD submit wi-fi rating. Pick one of three choices. Can leave short comment.

Way too involved. Nobody uses it. I want people to know I won't scam them and can be trusted.

Nobody uses it? Then where did all my wifi ratings come from? People use it. Yeah it's kind of cumbersome, but once you've done it a few times, it becomes easier.

I've been on eBay for years. In the beginning the sellers would leave feedback. I'd pay immediately at close of auction. I'd leave feedback...always positive even if it could be better...and most are so high volume they did not return FB. I quit giving it.

You must deal with more experienced members. Grats on your awesome ratings!!!!

Idk. I figured it out after I received my first wi-fi rating. I didn't find it that tricky. XD

person's name> wi-fi rating > submit feedback for ______

Then you have 3 things to fill out.
You were the: Visitor/Host/Trader
Overall experience: Positive +1/Neutral 0/Negative -1
Short comment: (visible to all) This person rocks my socks.

I've been using eBay for many years as well. Both as a seller and a buyer I leave the appropriate feedback and I wish more people would do so too. :) I've found I'm more likely to get feedback from people I buy from (although I've a feeling they've somehow set it up to do so automatically - because it often appears almost as soon as I send the money) than from people who buy from me. :(

On here, I find people are most negligent with giving feedback in response to giveaways (which are still wi-fi communication!) rather than actual trades. Hence why I tend to make the first move. :)

Personally, I think the wifi ratings are interesting and a great way to help get people to do business with you and vice versa. It works alot like how Ebay does for when a seller leaves feedback for the item they've bought. Imo, it helps show how trustworthy the buyer or seller is and instead of just trying to "guess" on whether the person is nor not, the ratings help make a decision. Some people forsake them and do not care about them, and that is fine and all, but I on the other hand, like to show that I care for the person I am distributing the item for, so that they come back to me when they need it. It is how people keep their "customers" when doing business. Whether you call selling items, clothes, or whatever on Animal Crossing a "business", I find it a tad bit far there, but it does however help both parties on each end feel comfortable with a mutual agreement that each can be trusted. Personally, I wouldn't want someone with terrible feedback to serve me and vice versa. I would be afraid of getting "ripped" off and that would just be a waste of time. I also love to help send positive word around for the ones that deserve it! It makes you feel good, and makes them feel good as well. Same for if a person who being misleading or so. I guess most people don't leave much feedback sometimes because they really don't take into account how much help it actually can be.

In fact, just this morning a person went onto my profile and had decided to leave false-negative feedback just because of all the positives ones I have had accumulated. I didn't even know this person nor did I have any wifi trades with him at all. He just plain felt like trolling around and then tarnished my perfect record with false information. I was pretty upset to say the least as I'd not want people seeing my feedback and to then think that I was "mean" or "rude" I have reported him to the mods so hopefully something can be done about that. But yeah, that is basically my intake on the matter lol

This is pretty much exactly what I would say; it's basically a rating system depicting whether or not someone is reliable to Wi-Fi with. :) There was actually at least one or two other incidents like yours where someone is posting negative feedback on random people's pages. It's unfortunate, but I can see it becoming common within the future. I'm guessing since the previous situation was pretty much left alone, I'm almost positive the staff can't do much about it. :(

Whatt? it's not hard..
Why not try rating people first then they might rate you back

Just like eBay, the person should not be allowed to leave a rating unless a transaction has taken place. You said everything I was thinkinng. Thank you. With the internet and all the negative things I've read about trades or whatever, I want to see that person's rating to know whether I can trust them or not. Since this is just a game, people are still wanting to protect their towns from damage or theft, or have an item taken without paying.

Superpenguin posted this info on 8-21-13 for me:

Link isn't working. BRB

Here you go.

Wifi ratings for me really don't take anymore than 2 minutes. If someone doesn't leave you one and you like REALLY feel that you need one to be left, then just tell them to. If they don't know how to leave it, then you should tell them.

I do but they obviously ignore the automated message. I've given every single person a rating and only one has replied.

Hm. My best guess is that they feel the exchange wasn't significant enough to warrant a rating, but.. who knows.

Some people are just really rushy/rude like that.
