Wii Fit Preview

With hit games such as Wii Play, Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Sports, Nintendo is practically guaranteed to accomplish their goal of attracting a wider audience of people to Wii.
In the other thread you said you'd give it a 5.7 or somethin'.
That's my rating. What I'm saying is that the game is popular among most people.

For many of you who probably are unaware of this but Wii Fit is the third installment in the Wii series. Other games in the Wii series are Wii Sports, Wii Play and Wii Music.

Says who? There's plenty of Wii games that use the Wii/Revolution name in the title. Just because they all have similar names and are made by Nintendo doesn't make them a series. They are all extremely diverse from each other, and none of them are even close to making a series.
There is a series. It's a series Nintendo has for casual gamers.

The goal of Wii Fit is to keep you as fit as possible by completing simple exercises such as yoga, hitting soccer balls and doing posses. Of course, there are more activities in the game besides these. There is supposed to be around 50 activities for you to engage in.
So do we need to buy a soccer ball to play this game? Also trust me doing posses is not fun.
No, you lean to each side of the Balance Board. Also, I never said doing posses was fun.

This channel will be launch with Wii Fit when it gets released in early 2008.
Source?

Early 2008 =/= First half of the year.
Most sources say early 2008.

Currently, this new channel won't utilize WiiConnect24 but that may change.
Why would you even bring that up than?
It's an interesting fact.

Scheduled to launch in early 2008, this game will surely be one of the best Wii games of 2008.
We don't even know half of the games that are coming out next year. I'm sure that there will be better than Wii Fit. Trust me on this.
[/b] I never said it will be the best. I just said it's going to be one of the best.[/b]

It seems like a great game so let's hope it ends up to be a great game!
A really crummy ending statement.
I never found it that bad.
Responded to all your comments.

Giving a game 10/10 before you even play it just shows your inexperience and lack of knowledge in preview/reviews and gaming in general. You may like this game, thats great but I came in not knowing much about Wii Fit and came out knowing less if anything.

The last few months of game releases has been the best probably in history. TP, Galaxy, Eternal Sonata, Halo 3, COD4, Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, and many more have been given 10/10's or have gotten pretty darn close.

To me the Wii Fit basically presents a problem one hasn't thought of. (Such as the other games dealing with vision and vocabulary) I'm pretty sure DDR would have you lose more weight regardless.

The lack of information is just too much. So basically all you do is poses and play virtual soccer?

From doing a simple search I got this.

* Yoga exercises[6]
* Push Ups[6]
* Step aerobics, including a game in which the player must step on and off the Wii Balance Board in rhythm to the background music[6]
* Hitting on-coming soccer balls and avoiding other objects by leaning forward and back[6]
* A ball-rolling mini-game[6]
* Hula hooping[6]
* Ski jumping, whereby the player squats as low as possible, whilst maintaining his or her balance, and then quickly stands as fast as possible in order to gain a good jump[14]
* Jogging

The thing is, I can do all of those for free. Convince me that this is a 10/10 game. Convince me that I should pay for this when I could do it for free with friends.

10/10 is my anticipation for the game not a rating.
Yeah, you copied all that from Wikipedia. Besides, if I had all that you'd still be complaining.

I never said I wrote it. I said I searched it. Regardless, I got more information looking at that page than what you put in your preview.

A great preview should look like this, http://wii.ign.com/articles/827/827376p1.html

Your preview is your biased opinion that you defend with it being an opinion. If you want to get positive feedback write better articles, defend what you say with facts or convincing statements.

Saying "It seems like a great game so let's hope it ends up to be a great game!" is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

Same with Wii Sports. One could play all 5 sports in the game in one day, easily... but didn't Wii Sports turn out pretty fun?

It was fun for the first few games but after the 3rd game of bowling and the 4th golf game (not in a row) I got pretty tired of it. It was extremely repetitive.

Well, a lot of people still enjoy playing it... so that's why a lot of people are still looking forward to Wii Fit.

Wii fit doesn't seem to be that similar to Wii sports. Wii sports was basically something to start the Wii off that was simple and that incorporated Miis. From what I've heard, boxing isn't that fun and as I said golf and bowling get repetitive. It may still be popular because a lot of people are just getting a Wii. For people that have had it for some time they seem to talk about everything but Wii sports.

Wii Play is coming way after the Wii's release. I'm being very cynical here but to me it seems that Nintendo is trying to make a quick buck instead of working on a game that is more substantial. Playing video games and getting fit is fun, yah. But After the first week I'd rather get fat and play Halo 3.

I was comparing the concept, not the gameplay.

Concept of what?

Oh, the chaos!
Can't we just stop fighting and agree that my preview was bad(it was my first) and that Wii Fit will be a hit?

Of why people look forward to the games and enjoy them.

And Snoop, it was not bad for a first preview.

I just think people don't look forward to it as much as they think they do. Its like a deodorant commercial. If I lack self-confidence and my armpit stinks, making my armpit smell nice won't give me self-confidence.

Nintendo is starting to that and I don't like that.

PM wins with that statement.

I thought the preview was pretty good, it was rather short, but still good for a first try. But I hope when you said it would be one of the best games of 2008 it was after Brawl on the list.

It was.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl may be the best Wii game if it lives up to what people make of it.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl id definitely going to be the must have Wii game in 2008.

End of discussion.

We aren't arguing of whether or not Wii Fit will be a hit, we're trying to give you criticism and you're not taking it.
