My villagers fashion taste is terrible... so will they wear clothes you send them?

YES! But only if they like the shirt otherwise they'll just dump it in their house. For instance I saw that Rocket's house had lots of pink/lovely furniture so I sent her a pink daisy t-shirt and she wore it. And I knew Boone was a jock so I sent him a rugby shirt I thought he'd like and he wore it.

I'd recommend looking up the character here then you can find their favourite colour/style and choose an appropriate shirt to send them. :) http://www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/villager-birthdays/

Actually, I've had no problems with getting villagers to wear whatever I want, regardless of style -- the thing is, I have to send more than one. Usually, if they have room in their house for it, they'll put one in their house, but if you send them multiples, they always put on at least one. I like to send villagers around five of each new shirt, and they usually change into it then. The only downside is, it's a bit more difficult to do this with GracieGrace shirts, since you can't order those from the catalog. >.<;;;

Even if it's their original shirt, I often have to send a couple to get them to change. You just never know. But I think you can get them into anything sooner or later -- just be prepared to get the extras out of their house AND for them to change back into something terrible a few days later.....

Also it's best to make original designs for the shop. When they all start wearing that plain white shirt designed by Anyone from Anytown, oh god, it's so awful!

So true! If you don't want to make shirts, just turn all the shirts at the shop into umbrellas and then they can't wear them.

Yeah, they'll wear the clothes you send them, but not every time you send something, it seems. I got Stitches to wear the tuxedo I sent him on the first try (and he's SO cute in it, omg), but I've sent Bree like four different shirts and she still insists on wearing that stupid duck shirt by Someone from Anytown :/

Ah ok, thanks! :)

There are more chances they will wear them if they really like the style or the colour of the piece you are sending them. They won't wear robes, skirts though. Also, there are still chances they will dump the shirts they like in their house. You have to send them over & over until they wear it.

Just upload new patterns or take time to design your own patterns so that you eschew those into nonexistence...

This is what I did with some of my villagers. Once it's time to update my Dream Address again, I'm going to do it again to make sure everyone is wearing something cute for my dream visitors. :3

But yeah, like with Boone, I sent him multiples of the same Beige Emblem Blazer because dang it he looks cute in it even if he hates it!! I wish they just wore what I sent them all the time!

I was trying to make Zucker wear his original shirt (flan tank) but it's Gracie so this may take a while :p It's also a shirt that he doesn't really like according to Thonky's guide x_x

What i hate is how they get those patterns from Able and wear them. THat white shirt that you start off with? Like everyone wears them. Sigh.

That's what I was saying, it's horrible! It's essential to replace those shirts with some of your own designs or turn them in to umbrellas!

The orange shirt is even worst. Seeing Marcel wear that really made me cringe.

Don't talk to me about that white shirt! The other day I caught Lucy wearing it! I freaked as I thought she was naked! Soon sent her something nicer in the post and thankfully she put it on!

I like the original shirts. When I was younger I used to make rude pictures. Now it's online I don't, I swear! I have some funky eye shirts and a tribute to Bob the Cat. So even if I don't have Bob he's there in spirit. I love it when they were my own design shirts.

Sending a shirt it's a bit of a hit or a miss if they'll wear it or not.

Mine wear the shirt if I send them several shirts all in the same mail. I just buy a bunch of the same kind and flood their mail box. Obviously I can only do that with ones I can order from the cagalog.

But they eventually change and I have to start over.
