I'm thinking of upgrading, and the design is pretty cute... I don't like any of the regular colours either.

What does everyone else think? :)
 
I don't really have a need for a New 3ds, I think my current 3dsxl is fine. Built in amiibo support and better 3d and xenoblade are all nice but I don't really want to spend another ?150 to get access to those.
 
I won't be buying it, though I do agree it is cute. But my 3DS XL still is in great condition, so I don't have any reason to buy a new 3DS until my current one is unusable (no current games, non-responsive buttons, etc)
 
Could I see the special edition you are talking about? I haven't seen any news about it anywhere, other then the swappable case, if that's what you mean.

I'm guessing if it goes anywhere, it will go to Europe. The standard new 3ds hasn't even been released in North America yet, and Nintendo said that they don't plan to.
 
The swappable case plates are really pretty, if I already had a new 3DS I would probably buy those. But, I've held out buying a new 3DS in case they released an AC themed one. I bought the Pikachu edition 3DS before ACNL was released so I missed out on that. I'm hoping they release the HHD edition in the UK because I would really like one.

The game releases September 25th, so that's why I'm hoping they'll announce something on August, but mainly september since the blue N3DS XL is pretty much confirmed for August I heard. (I'm extremely desperate too lol)

Ew is that the navy/dark blue one? :/ We have that in the UK. Just... give us some pretty consoles already!!
I spoke to my local game shop and they think the XL will be released still!

Yeah, but to be fair, Nintendo has always been hinting about new SKUs, and at least they're kind of trying for NA =P Blue is still a lot better than red or black, but I still think they need more limited editions (and have a better supply, too unlike the Majora's Mask 3DS)
 
I definitely plan on getting this one. I've been waiting out on one that catches my eye (specifically an AC themed one). I'm still sitting here with the classic 2011 3DS, and I'm starting to get bugged by how small it is compared to the XL.
 
I've been wanting a reason to purchase a new 3DS XL and this would be it. I still think chances of a NA release are slim to none, but here's hoping.

Your statement confuses me a little. North America doesn't have the standard-sized new 3DS, but we do have the new 3DS XL. Given that this HHD limited edition is a new 3DS XL and given that they've hinted at new SKUs (as BellGreen mentions), there are no pre-existing market conditions that would lessen the odds of their releasing the limited edition in NA.

Oooh, I must have misread the article. Sorry about that.
Considering my hands are too tiny to use the XL anyway, I'll just have to wait for a next-gen console. But.. this might change my mind a bit. I want that n3ds
 
I'll totally get it if it comes to NA since I have my nds xl for quite some time now and I've been eyeing for a n3ds :) I'm starting to get worried tho since there's still no any news about it being released oversee but the game wont come until september/october for NA and Europe so I'll stay hopeful ;)
 
Aah, I wish I knew about it sooner.
I just got the (new-ish) 3DS 2 weeks ago ;;
 
the new system seems really cute, but i dont have the money to spend on a totally new 3ds. besides i would be scared to lose all of my data and streetpass data (such as puzzles and stuff). i think you can do a data swap but still im not sure it would be worth it :p
 
I won't be. I don't need a new 3DS right now since my current one works great!
The design is cute though!
