Personally, I want to go into a game knowing very little what it has to offer. That way, I can have my mind blown and genuinely feeling the surprise. It's gonna be hard though because of the news that will spill every once in a while. Maybe I should avoid this section of the forums once we get closer to the release. What are your thoughts?

I do not mind knowing more going into it. It just makes things easier to plan sometimes.
I collect guides as well so if there are some early on, I will likely find out that way.
Surprises can be fun though, so maybe I will go for a mix of both this time.

I'm probably going in half blind. I'll likely keep up with any tidbits of information that releases, but I likely won't look at any major leaks of sorts. I guess you can consider this half blind?

i do really want to go in blind, because that's how i went into nl, but i'm so excited and i just want to soak up any information on the game i can get. if Nintendo releases directs purely for nh, i'd be very tempted to watch, and i may even watch a little bit of it, but i don't want any major spoilers

As much as I'd love to go into the game blind-- I always end up resetting and I don't want to do that with this town. I want to keep it as long as I can ^o^

I really want a guide this time. I didn't have one for any of the other games but did use forums and wikis a lot to find out how to get certain items, etc. I don't like missing out on anything!
I also love my big Breath of the Wild hardback guide and I hope they make something similar for ACNH. We'll be playing this game for years so I want something that'll last.

Absolutely not i'm way to curious about all the new features so I will read everything that comes out.

I'll probably go half blind. I want to know every update possible and hype me more as we get closer to release. I doubt they'll show anything major and that will be for us to discover.

probably not. im gonna consume as much content as i can before the games out to hold me over for the next 9 months lol

You definitely should avoid this part of the forums if you want to avoid anything, lol.

I'm going to try and keep up with all the newest information. Personally, I like being prepared more than being surprised, especially in a game like Animal Crossing. There's going to be enough we won't find out about until the game releases, and mechanics we'll have to figure out as we play.

I'm not sure. All the previous iterations, I've come in blind. It's too late for this one, since I watched the Treehouse Live and heard a little bit here and there already, but I might start avoiding this section on TBT so I don't hear more.

a hardback guide for new horizons is something that i MUST have if they release it. i have one for the sims 4 and breath of the wild, and i rarely use them - but it is so nice to look at them because it gives such good information.

Everything that comes out I have to watch or read. However with new leaf since it came out in japan what 8 months before NA I knew everything about the game due to watching on YouTube.

So I won?t do this for this game. Once I get the game I won?t watch ahead unless I?ve already experienced it for myself. There were about half the holidays in new leaf I didn?t participate in due to me already watching it several times on YouTube.

I want to experience everything for myself in new horizons.

Well, fortunately, New Horizons is getting a same day worldwide release. So the only things that will come out before release are what Nintendo officially reveals via videos or interviews, or possibly leaks. If you get the game on day 1, then you'll be discovering things with the entire rest of the world.

It will be nice not having the 6 month Japan exclusivity period this time so we don't know quite as much by the release. However, in this day and age, Nintendo tends to reveal a looooot of their games before the release, plus if it's anything like New Leaf there will be review copies out there an entire month beforehand. So the entire game may essentially up 'spoiled' anyway!

Nah, I actually don't mind getting spoiled too much when it comes to Animal Crossing. It helps me plan out my town and my playing much better knowing the goals the game offers in advance.

I'm definitely very glad they are doing a worldwide release for New Horizons unlike New Leaf, too. That wait felt like eternity!

Yes. I’m very happy about this. It was torture waiting before.

I want to know everything. I‘am searching like everyday for new infos. I‘m glad though Japan don’t get it earlier this time

Nah, the only thing I wanna go blind from are the new/returning villagers, if we're getting, which we will. I want to find out what new villagers are in the game that have yet to be revealed by new pictures directly from Nintendo, CoroCoro leaks, Nintendo Directs, etc. Any new/returning villagers that we have yet to see, only for us to find out when we get the game, (Where we can find out by people posting pics of the new villagers online) I prefer to look into myself and see if I actually like the villager or not.

This will go the same with Pokemon, but unfortunately from Black and White onward, I found out what every new Pokemon there was going to be before looking into them blindly.

I am going to make sure to see some of the new Villagers/Pokemon blindly that hasn't been revealed.
