What words do you not know the meaning for? I don't really know the meaning of sophisticated even though I've been searching the defitnation a lot. Can anyone explain the word simply?

Something that is sophisticated is highly developed and requires a certain level of knowledge to appreciate the complexity of. An example would be jazz music or gourmet sushi. Someone who doesn't know anything about Jazz can listen to it, and even enjoy it, but they can't appreciate the things that make it uniquely jazz.

There are so many words that I don't understand no matter how many times I check the meaning, haha. But one word that comes to mind is self-sufficient. I hear that word a lot, but I still can't understand it at all.

A lot of -phobic or -ist words in the controversial community, never bothered to look most up

I don't understand the difference between empathy and sympathy...

If you just google whatever the root word is, you should figure it out. i.e., homophobia = fear of homosexual.

Empathy is understanding. Sympathy is pity.

This one is pretty self explanatory. Anything that can sustain on its own without outside input. For example, a plant that can exist without ever needing you to water it, change the soil, or change its sunlight. It doesn't need your input to sustain life; it is self-sufficient.

can't think of any specific ones atm but a lot of complicated and weird adjectives are just ???? to me. i often just reas it as "This thing was very _____" because idk what the word actually means. a lot of the time i know if it has a positive or negstive meaning, but i dont know the specific meaning ):<

Probably a lot of random english words people overuse that I can't bother to look up cause they somewhat still made sense.

Also some old and obscure Swedish words people rarely use or they only turn up when I try solving crosswords...

yes, the full version of it is in the "what do you look like?" thread. I have a photoshoot with the same photographer, and better wig in about a month. If you want more info or links to my work PM me, as it is quite off topic.

Oh, no, I was just curious ^ ^"

Another word I could never seem to understand the meaning of is technically. Come to think of it, technically is pretty much the number one word I cannot understand at all. I tell so many people what the meaning of that word is, but I either forget or I just can't seem to understand it.
