This is my second colored one, so it's def. not the best.
Try cleaning up the lines on the hair! Did you use a separate layer for the lineart?

We don't have enough money for one. :< I wish though.
actually there are some mouse users on here that do pretty well.
You just need to find the right program, and practice tbh..
You can draw amazing stuff even without a tablet!
Before I got a tablet, I used to do lineart traditionally, took a picture of it, then colored it digitally -- the key is to shrink the final product to super small so the traditional lines aren't that obvious LOL;; (not a recommended method tho www)
Another thing you might want to look into is the pen tool on photoshop / vector layers on sai. Here's tutorial I found useful on the pen tool to get you started!
I don't know if he's still using the pen tool or not, but here's a friend who used to + a hair tutorial that he made;;

I second this, not that I draw lol; but I also know Chibi.Hoshi is incredible and uses only her mouse as of right now. My sig bust-piece was done by her and her ability to use only a mouse is so wonderful, such talent<3 So, yes you can excel at art without a tablet.
Not true! I use only a mouse for my art. Mouse art isn't all bad! It just depends on how you use it!

So, would you buy this? I tried my best and it took my like five hours... But that's because gimp was being stupid...heh.

I wouldn't, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep practicing!
The arm seems really tiny compared to the legs, and it could use a little more shading at the hair.
It's still pretty cute, but keep practicing and come back, I'm sure you'll get better feedback!
Remember, practice, practice, PRACTICE!
