I wouldn't get mad because most likely it wouldn't end up in a lineup and it might start collecting dust in they're inventory so they'd want to sell, trade or give it to someone else. What about you guys?
not really. imo if someone wins a collectible in a giveaway, it should be up to them what they wanna do with it. I wouldnt care if they sell or keep it cause its their possession now.
I think people should have a bit of honour and not resell it if they won it in a giveaway. However, if they were trading or gifting it to someone who wanted it in their lineup, I would be totally fine with that.
If they really must do a giveaway on it, the same rules that applied from the giveaway they got it from should apply for that collectable. If they got it for free, then it would be disrespectful to make it a raffle, even if they allow free entries. I know some sellers will say once it's yours you can do whatever you want with it, but I still find it rude to profit off of somethin you got for free cause someone wanted to be generous.
depends. if that's a rule to follow in order to enter a giveaway then you have to stick by it. i think as long as no profit is made if you're giving it away again (eg giving it to a friend or date trading) then it's completely fine
Nah, cuz I'd do it lol.
I won it, I do what I want with it.
If the rules states that "you can't resell it" or that it's only for people who really want it, then I just don't enter.
If they do a giveway with it I'd be a bit upset, but I guess I wouldn't care much.
Sometimes I indicate in my giveaways that selling immediately after the giveaway is not allowed, because I am hosting the giveaway specifically to help out members who have less and I don't want rich members to get the collectibles and profit off them. But otherwise I don't really care. What I care more about is if I gift a specific person a collectible they were looking for, and then they sell it. That's super rude in my opinion.
If you don't want the collectible, don't enter the giveaway. I view giveaways to help others who can't afford a collectible they want, not for greedy people to sell it later.
it really depends. i generally state in giveaways to only enter if you want the collectible, so if they turned around and resold it immediately i'd be pretty annoyed. if it's been quite a while after the giveaway though and they decided they no longer wanted it i wouldn't mind if they did whatever with it.
I don't see it as greedy at all. You're helping them achieve getting their dream collectibles while also giving your item to someone who wants it. If that's greedy then signing up for any giveaway can be also considered greedy
If they entered just to resell then yes, but hey everyone can change mind and if they did after a few months ig it's fine. But yeah I'd def prefer if people kept it for some time. Also I can't yell at ppl for it but yeah it's lowkey rude just to enter for profit.
If you don't want the collectible, don't enter the giveaway. I view giveaways to help others who can't afford a collectible they want, not for greedy people to sell it later.
nah idc what someone does with a collectible once i give it away. if they sell it it?s gonna help them afford something else they wanted so same difference to me. when i do a giveaway it?s mostly just for the fun of it, if i want the collectible to go to someone who really wants it i just gift to someone on the mp who?s looking.
I don't feel too strongly about it one way or the other, but I would never enter a giveaway for a collectible I didn't want. I'd rather see it go to someone who did want it.
People change their minds all the time, so they might want it now, but would rather have something else later. If that happens down the road, I don't see anything wrong with them trading or selling it at that point. But entering a giveaway just to profit from it immediately doesn't feel right to me, especially if the giveaway specifies that they don't want you to do so in the rules.
Selling a collectible you got for free is a really crappy thing to do. You're profiting from someone's kindheartedness. That collectible could have gone to someone who really wanted it but couldn't afford to buy one.
Ok so lets say I wanted a love ball, right? I clearly don't have the dough to get one so I enter a giveaway and end up winning. What's the difference between winning something you couldnt afford and winning something that will help you afford another thing.
Then it takes the item off the market for the people who entered because they really want that particular collectible and can't afford it, or it's rare.
I'm personally in the camp of that it wouldn't matter to me if someone sold a collectible after a giveaway or not. Once you give someone a collectible, it is no longer your property and the recipient can do whatever they want with it. Additionally, rules about not reselling in a giveaway are impossible to enforce and only cause unnecessary drama & tension in the community. To me, you should not host a giveaway unless you are willing to completely lose all possession and say in the fate of the given item(s) of interest.
Kind of and kinda not. I mean, after you give it away, it's their responsibility after they get it, but if I ever do a giveaway, I would kinda like it if it goes to someone who really needs it and will use it. I understand it they don't want it after a few months or a year, but really, it's a waste of time and energy getting mad at someone just like my grandpa and dad always say, so no not really. I won't get mad at all.
