Would you mind receiving graphics as gifts for Secret Santa?

Please vote if you'd mind receiving graphics of your ocs as gifts for Secret Santa. Please only vote if you are participating in the Secret Santa. I would like this to be as community of an event as possible so I'm shying away from creating sections within the pool for those who'd prefer strictly art or would not mind receiving graphics as gifts. As of right now, the poll would be a simple YES or NO. If the majority of the participants voices that they do not mind, then we would include graphic artists. That would mean regardless of your preferences, there is a chance that you would receive graphics. Please do not complain about the gift should you discover that your gift is not quite to your taste as this should just be A LOT OF FUN!! If you have more suggestions, please let me know! I have a feeling that most people would rather have art, which sucks because I love making graphics for people and really want to participate.

Don't worry dude, if no one else wants GFX il take it from you, so you can make me even more GFX then you owe me lol.
But cause I drew your OC's so much, I would prefure someone else take you! But if not I will.

Eh, I don't think "exclude" is the right word here. The bottom line is that exchanges should be equivalent, and I believe it'd be harder to make sure everyone gets something of equal value if graphics are thrown into the mix, considering the circumstances. After all, most of the graphics done here are hobby graphics; they aren't of the more "professional" variety (i.e. posters, covers, LPs, etc).
In my opinion, those types of graphics would be a better for working with OCs, and I feel like most would prefer graphics of their OC... especially over graphics featuring misc renders, which a lot of tag makers require.

Don't get me wrong- stuff like signatures and banners are great and all, though alone... I don't think they're a good fit in exchange for OC doodles. Imo it would be fair if full, large-sized graphics were gifted, if graphics do end up being accepted. And while I'm on the topic of LPs, I don't think a lot of graphic designers here even do those, unfortunately.
Or everyone's been doing them secretly, idk. I'm kinda hoping I'll be proved wrong here.

And before anyone says I'm hating - I'm a graphic designer myself, and I'm not putting down other designers. Graphic art isn't inferior to traditional/digital art; it's just that everything should be leveled out/everyone should get something in an art form they'd like in return for hard work, and I don't think signatures achieves this. They're less useful.

But then again, I could have this all wrong. You can't really tell who's going to go all out and who's not, haha. For example, I was the type to spend at least an hour on secret santa gifts, so I'm assuming that most would as well.

hmmm I guess if anything, we could always try and do a ss for people who draw and a ss for gfx makers (separately)? o:
that way, people who make gfx won't be 'excluded' and people who draw and prefer receiving doodles can be satisfied as well...?

...just throwing that out for consideration, don't mind me if I'm not making sense orz;

I don't mean to be harsh to GFX creators, but I personally think that if we create art we should receive art in turn ;v;

Being both a digital artist and GFX artist, the time it takes to even draw a doodle is a lot more then it takes to make a signature. Some people also might not use the GFX, and also the person receiving the GFX and have to send renders and stuff, and it ruins the joy of receiving an unexpected piece.

Don't get me wrong, I love gfx. Derezzed's is awesome. But in this situation it just seems unfair.


However, it may be an idea to have a secret santa purely for GFX, so everyone can take part!

If it is, then wouldn't mind if I got graphics from the Secret Santa thing, as long as I don't have to make any graphics in return (because I can't). I would prefer to get art though because I don't have enough refs for most of my characters. At the moment, I only have art of 5 of my characters on my Tumblr thing where I have art of my characters. That may not sound too bad... but only two have more than one ref, and those five characters? That's five characters out of well over 30, maybe even 40...

I'm saying that if we're kept separate I probably won't feel like participating. It kinda gets me down.

I think it would be cool if participants could say if they want or accept graphics, so maybe make it as an option. Also say what they want for graphics (wallpaper, signature, etc.) I personally wouldn't mind a new wallpaper.

I understand that some do not mind getting signatures, banners, or ref sheets as Secret Santa gifts, but I also want them to have an equal chance of getting a piece of art. As it stands right now, most of people would prefer art and I don't want those that would not mind graphics end up with all the graphics
