Both sound horribly miserable. Um. I'd rather be able to sleep, I suppose, because at least then I can dream about playing. I hope that's a satisfactory answer.

I now have a mental image in my mind...

After reading and watching 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel, I can tell you that a boat would be cruel.
I would say cave, as long as there was a forest nearby so that I could venture out collect supplies such as berries, fish, water ect.
I'm not eating spiders and cockroaches... *shudder* ...
