You can give direct gifts to your villagers now!

Like in New Leaf and previous, if you're often talking to a villager long enough they'll tend to walk up to you to just offer a gift as a sign of friendship. As it turns now, now you're capable of doing the same thing yourself!


I've been chatting to Katt everyday now coming up to my 5th day (today), and when I went up to her to talk again, a new option popped up that said:

"This is yours!"

Choosing it opened my inventory, giving me the option to select my furniture, clothing, or even tools! That's when I remembered a gift wrap being an purchasable item in Nook's cranny and then it struck me! Rushing back to buy a gift wrap and wrapping up a Rock guitar, I chose the option again and gave the wrapped gift to Katt, she opened it up and happily accepted it, giving me 1,003 Bells as thanks for it.

I tried this for Coach as well by giving him an 8-Ball Tee, and he wore it immediately with 307 Bells as thanks!

I'm not sure if this increases friendship levels but it's a neat new feature for always chatting with you neighbors as well as not having to rely on sending mail to give presents!

I have this too! I love this feature so much I even requested it in the "what features do you want" thread a while back! I'm so glad this is in I can't wait to develop friendships this way

I saw this earlier today. I was a bit confused about it, I thought I was supposed to find a lost item for Hazel.

It seems like the villagers are starting to become a bit more interesting now, Hazel also sent me on a treasure hunt for an item earlier.

Noticed this too, cool feature! (Though at first I thought I had to find a missing item since one of the options is "This is yours") Haven't tried wrapping the gifts yet but might try that later
