Your Favorite Cranky Villager?

hiya! what's your favorite cranky villager?
and why! also, does your island fit a specific theme or color scheme / anything of the sorts?

bonus question: what cranky villager would you choose for an alice in wonderland themed island? (if any)

my favourite has always been apollo
i love his design, he's so jazzy yet so simple

he doesn't fit my theme but i enjoyed having him on my island (he moved out the other day)
i'll probably get him back soon though, he's such a great villager

can't forget others like: lobo, boris, bruce, grizzly, cyrano, rooney, gruff, dobie, murphy, cesar, harry, chief, fang, hopper, wolfgang, static, rasher and kabuki
cranky villagers are amazing

I love Apollo! there are so many good cranky villagers. I do wish they made their designs more fun though--just because they're cranky doesn't mean they have to mostly be dark/grungy colors/aesthetic

Wolfgang is my favorite.

He's reminds of my german shepherd I lost many years ago, so I have Wolfgang in every town, so I've always got a part of my dog (Shaitan) with me.

That's very sweet! I'm sure you made your dog very happy and loved, it's nice that you kept him around in your ways! The wolf cranky villagers are all great imo, love them!

My favourite is probably Wolfgang, but Kabuki has been growing on me recently TT. I'm not a fan of many of the cranky villagers - I only like 3 or 4 of them.

His house is very beautiful, also he loves read books and drink a cup of coffee. I think it’s a good choice for a cranky villager, he is very cute

Fang is also my favorite, and I too think he would definitely fit an Alice in Wonderland theme Interesting you mention forest, because I'm currently decorating around his (future) house, and I literally have all my trees surrounding it since I decided to go with a foresty theme for his area :3

at the moment Dobie, closely followed by Fang. no particular reason why honestly - I think Fang was a random move in and he totally grew on me, so when I had to move him out to get a campsite villager in (didn't reset fast enough) I ended up getting Dobie to replace him for the similar vibes. my island has absolutely no theme! I'd say either of them could potentially fit into an Alice in Wonderland theme, but I'm no theme expert lol I just do whatever

Wolfgang and Fang are my favourites cranky's, never actually come across them in ACNH so far but hoping I will at some point soon I like quite a few cranky's overall though, especially the other wolves and Hopper.

Hamphrey! Him being tiny but with a booming voice is so cute, lol.

My favorites are Kurt and Roscoe. I have both on my island. All my villagers are grey or black in colors so they fit perfectly.
For an Alice in wonderland I would go with Ricky. His face gives me mad hatter vibes. Gift him a hat or something.

That's very true actually! Fang is indeed a good choice too! I can see him fitting well with that theme as well

I second this! My island is kind of Alice in wonderland inspired and I love cranky villagers and cannot for the life of me decide on a cranky, the thing is!! I try to have one of each types and since I have Skye I was hesitant on another wolf since I do have two sheeps as well LOL, hard lyfe! But he is ideal for that theme for sure

Awww! Nice to see a different favorite! I never met hamphrey yet in any game BUT I can see the cute lil chonk and then BOOM, deep voice hitting ya like OwO he's def pretty adorable!

You're very right!!! He does give off the wonky vibe thanks to his expression! Most of them are in darker colors and definitely fit islands going for that, sadly for me everything is so colorful and bright so picking someone that sits well with it can be difficult

This is a tough one. I've only had one in NH, and that's Admiral. Didn't even know who he was before I got him, and he's become one of my favorites. That's how I pick my favorites, is through experience.

From other games, I had Static in WW, Grizzly in CF, and Rolf in NL, I really liked them.

However, I also have to say, one thing I love about the "meaner" personalities is the capability to absolutely hate them. I will never forgive Buzz, Vladimir, or Chow, for their crimes against me lol. I hate them, but for that, I almost think that makes them good "cranky" villagers. Does that make sense?

Cranky is one of my favorite personalities. I say that because a have A LOT of favorite cranky villagers. Top of the list is Rolf, whom I share my birthday with. Also, he has a cool design, being an albino tiger and all.

Other top faves include Buzz, Lobo, Dobie, Elvis and Curt, who are all equally tied. 10 villagers is not enough for my island. I wanna have them all.

Gaston and Octavian are my favorites. Gaston seems like a cool guy to talk to and Octavian was the only ever octopus villager I've had in New Leaf.

I like most of the cranky villagers, including all the cranky wolves. When I had a fairy tale theme island, I chose Fang as my cranky. I can't remember all the animals that show up in Alice in Wonderland but there is a list here on an Alice wiki:

It says there is a chicken in jury at the trial. Knox is a cranky villager chicken who wears a red outfit and gold helmet. He might work for an Alice island. Knox is great!

Static is my favorite cranky man.He popped up in one of my old cycling towns in New Leaf unexpectedly and he grew on me so I kept him and moved him to my regular town and he's been there ever since.I had to get him for New Horizons and he's still my favorite.
