Hello, who is your favourite pokemon or list of top 5, the pokemon you always have in your party and rely on?
Mine would be gyrados, I was playing Alpha and was going to give up fishing but I put the rod in another 2-3 times and caught a gold magikarp! I was so excited when I seen it and used false swipe. No shinies in the switch Pokemon Sword edition just yet but I'm hoping soon for the shiny charm and then i'm going to go shiny hunting!
my most favourite is meloetta, i literally found it while messing around with a pokemon hack
but it's literally the prettiest pokemon i've ever seen and i always have a shiny one, it's like a must have lol i do use hacks to get it on all my games but i also never play online so it's only really affects my game
anyway my top 5 pokemon are:
1- meloetta
2- sylveon
3- silvally
4- metagross
5- rayquaza
these snazzy pokemon are always on my team (except in swsh, i don't have a meloetta since it's not in the game and i haven't found a metagross yet)
My favorite has always been and always will be Lucario! Ever since I had one in generation four I’ve loved the Pokemon. Also glad that Lucario ended up getting a mega evolution as well.

It's really no trouble at all. ☺ I've been catching a lot of Pokémon to have a living dex in Pokémon Home, so catching one more is nothing! My offer still stands if/when you decide to get back into Shield~
Pokemon I always find myself wanting to have on my teams, no matter how many times I've used them in the past, are as follows (and mind you this is from the top of my head. There are like, a hundred others I love using but that would be one looong list haha ) this list is in no particular order:
1. Ampharos - always loved it ever since I was a kid owning my copy of Silver and playing it on my green Gameboy Color. I love everything about its design (but I despise its mega form lol) and I love that it can learn Fire Punch. Mareep and Flaaffy are just too precious, I can't help wanting to catch a Mareep every single time.
2. Venusaur - it's only natural since Bulbasaur is my #1 fave starter across all gens (tied in second place are Oshawott and Litten) I love how it's based on a dinosaur frog/living, walking plant and its run animation in LGPE is hilariously ridiculously adorable!
3. Vaporeon - love everything about it. I tend to lean towards bulky mons with lots of HP. I recall two Vaporeon of mine: Azure and Japas (named after an NPC from Majora's Mask )
4. Breloom - I can't help want one every single time even though I know better about grass/fighting types aaaah! I just love how Shroomish goes from that tiny little body to such a lean green fighting machine! (or in this case lizard/mushroom thing but omg I love it so much) I'm a sucker for mons that can learn Leech Seed.
5. Nidoking - this big guy speaks for himself lol dinosaur with lots of power and amazing design

Can't say anything about the 8th gen mons though, cuz I didn't play SwSh and until they release a definitive edition which includes ALL POKEMON (or until the inevitable 9th gen rolls around) I sadly won't get to try out mons like Greedent, Boltund, Appletun or Toxtricity
There are so many that I'm attached to so narrowing it down to the top 5 is hard but number 1 is definitely Eevee, she's so adorable and has always been my favourite Pokemon since I was young, though when it comes to games I usually stick to battling with the Eeveelutions rather then Eevee as I don't often use normal type Pokemon (actually as soon as I'm able to I fill up the whole team with as many Eeveelutions as I'm able to in the game). Considering all the other Pokemon I've encountered throughout the games I'd pick these as the top 5:
Eevee - will probably always be number one, don't think I'll ever find a Pokemon as special as this one ❤ also not going to include any of the eeveelutions in my top 5 as I love them all a lot and they'd probably end up filling up the list but my favourite has always been Vaporeon, followed by Sylveon and joint third would be Umbreon and Flareon (though honestly I think they're all great!)
Bulbasaur (including the evolutions Ivysaur and Venusaur) - my original and all time favourite starter in the game, while I do often pick the water type starter in most games Bulbasaur will always be the best starter to me and I really like the designs of all the evolutions in this line, always seems really underrated out of the Kanto starters though despite how great it is
Spheal and Sealeo (I'm not as big a fan off Walrein though unfortunately) - my favourite animal is the seal so I have a soft spot for any Pokemon that reminds me of one (also like Seel and Dewgong for this reason but not as much), the first time I ever saw Spheal in a game I thought it was one of the cutest things I'd ever seen and I've looked for it in every game since. While I don't really like the fact gen 8 came with expansions rather then a complete Pokédex I was so happy to find the Crown Tundra was filled with so many Spheals for me to find and catch (on a break from the game currently but I was in the process of trying to catch a shiny one which at some point I'll be returning to!)
Vulpix (and Ninetales) - probably my all time favourite fire Pokemon (maybe other then Flareon), Vulpix has always seemed really sweet and Ninetales comes across as such a majestic Pokemon, there are a lot of really fire Pokemon in gen 1 but these two have always stood out to me (probably helped by the fact that Vulpix and Eevee are both fox-like Pokemon). Also they're pretty unique with probably been my favourite fire type and ice type Pokemon (the Alolan versions)
Dragapult - the newest Pokemon to my list as it was only introduced in gen 8 but is has fast become a firm favourite, I really like the dragon/ghost typing and the range of moves that can be learned and is one of the best Pokemon I've had in my team. In shield I keep my shiny Pokemon in my normal team (when it's not filled with eeveelutions) and my original one in my battle team and with them I've never lost a match throughout the game so they hold a special place in my heart.
A few honourable mentions:
Growlithe (and Arcanine) and Ponyta (and Rapidash) - my other top Fire Pokemon from gen 1
Drampa (another newish Pokemon but my second favourite dragon type, doesn't seem to get much love but I really like the design)
Appletun (another very new one, who I quite often keep in my Shield team, though with Dragapult and Drampa it can sometimes become a bit too dragon heavy!)
Wigglytuff and Azumarill (love rabbits so I think these two are adorable)
Practically any water starter (after Bulbasaur, the water starters are my favourite but a particular mention goes to Piplup)
My favorite was and always will be 1. Oshawott - I just love them so much, ever since I opened up Pokemon White for the first time when I was little. Oshawott got me through elementary school lol 2. Umbreon - I used to really love Sylveon when Gen 6 was still new and popular, but during my playthrough of Ultra Sun I wanted a change, so I went for Umbreon instead of Sylveon. Immediately fell in love. 3. Empoleon - i like penguins, they're cool 4. Primarina - I don't understand why Popplio was so hated, I love it's final evolution, not to mention Primarina was the Pokemon that made the last move and won me the final battle of the main story in USUM. 5. ...I don't think I have a 5th favorite. All the other Pokemon I regularly use I feel very neutral about.
I am now realizing that 99% of this list is starter water types. but that's ok, water types are cool.
my team post-game is always (shiny) vaporeon, flareon, jolteon, glaceon, leafeon, and then whatever pokemon i liked best from the current gen. in USUM it was solgaleo, in SWSH it's galarian rapidash. i usually get at least vaporeon and flareon halfway through the game and keep them on my team. usually jolteon too. if i had to make a top five list-
vaporeon + flareon. i love them equally, and i feel bad ranking one higher than the other. i just can't do it. i have a lot of plushies and stuff of the two of them. they're a package deal for me. i love vaporeon's shiny more than flareon's though.
jolteon. very close second. i also have some plushies and stuff of her, just not as much.
glaceon + leafeon. i like glaceon more, but i feel like it's kind of cheat-y to give leafeon her own number. i think she's cute, but i never use her unfortunately because the battle tower only requires four pokemon. big rip. they both have terrible shinies in common.
galarian rapidash. i love her, shiny or otherwise. rapidash was always one of my top ten pokemon anyway, but i definitely prefer the galarian one. right up my alley. i just like unicorns in general, and the galarian version fits the unicorn aesthetic to a T for me.
ninetales + persian. i just think they're neat. i like foxes, i like cats, and they have appealing designs to me.

dewgong. never used it on a team before, but they're a cutie.

calyrex. love that funky little guy.
litten/torracat. shame about incineroar. he's alright, but he kind of ruined the line for me.
blaziken line. ORAS was my first pokemon game, and torchic was my starter and first ever pokemon.
(original) zigzagoon/linoone + poochyena/mightyena. these guys were my first ever non-starter pokemon, and i loved them.
Hmm.. I always had a thing for Pichu since I was a kid!
I'v never had any shiny Pokemon, because I'm kind of lazy when it comes to catching Pokemon an my Internet won't allow me to use Nintendo Online properly, so I can't even trade with anyone
