I gotta say I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH
Except ball pushing don't like that

I have it for the wii and now in my switch
But I really wanna know about other people think about this game
Before giving my full opinion since it's gonna be a long one

Just gonna say this I did 100% the game so I'm ok seeing spoilers

I love Okami! I remember my brother got it for me for Christmas back when it was just ported to Wii because he knew I loved wolves, and it's one of the best gifts I've ever received. It starts off quite slow honestly, I guess that's one of the many pages they took from Nintendo's book with Zelda-inspired gameplay lol. I think from Ryoshima Coast onwards it really starts to heat up and the story begins to unravel into something a little darker, which I appreciated. That whole story arc is probably my favourite part of the game, but I do love the overall experience.

Oddly enough, the first time I played it I started to get quite worn out towards the end, it felt like the end kept dragging on and this was after a good 50~ hours of gameplay. I've never felt that way with a game before, but I replayed it just a couple years ago and didn't have that same experience. In fact I'd say I enjoyed it even more the second time through, and I put more effort into the collectibles. I never did 100% it, because literally just a few days after I finished it a second time, it was announced that the HD version was being ported to Steam lmao... I was a little mad and I wished I had waited, but there was no way of telling. By today's standards it just doesn't look good on Wii at all, the resolution is so low that it looks awfully blurred due to the art style, and that significantly impaired my visual memory of it. But the HD version? It looks incredible. The inky lines are so crisp, it's definitely something that can be appreciated MUCH better in HD, the difference is like night and day.

I think in a couple years down the line I'll probably get it on Steam and indulge in a third playthrough. It's one of my favourite games for sure, the humour is light (and maybe a bit perverted), the characters are fun, and the music is beautiful. Even in its tedious moments I thoroughly enjoyed it, probably because it is so familiar to the Zelda style.

Totally agree with the ball pushing mini-games btw. To hell with those lol.

i had it for wii and didnt play a lot because the controls were really annoying but i love the aesthetics. i was planning on playing it this summer but i never got around to it. it feels like a bit of a waste to spend money on it for the switch when i already have it for wii so idk if i want to buy it ):

I love Okami, I remember when my sister played it on the wii and few weeks ago she bought it for the switch. I'm done with the game like I think last week and its feels kinda sad that the game is pretty short, but I can still do some few things even I'm done with the story in the game.

Short? Without going into spoiler territory just yet, did you not play past Kamiki Village or something? The game is super long. Though if you stopped after clearing the Moon Cave then I guess I can understand why you might think that the story is over, the game does fool you into believing it is, when in reality you've only cleared about 1/3 of it.

I LOVE this game! One of the best games I've ever had! Highly RECOMMEND!!

Okami is a very wholesome game. I love it and recommend it.

That great that people are loving it :D
And glad I'm not the only one with the dislike of ball pushing mechanic
I wish for HD version they could have make it better but oh well

I will now give my full opinion (has spoilers if nobody has played it 100%)

Well I'm gonna be with the rest
I love the graphics and HD switch did a fantastic job on doing it and secondly music is fantastic I love the one when you give kushi a ride to orochi cave.

Also I gotta say my favorite character in a way it's Waka and not because he is a moon tribe who were with the angel and survive I just mean it in the way of
He was mysterious at first but then in another run you realize he just testing you so you can beat yami because "shiranui" wasn't the one to defeat yami
Since orochi was the most the most strongest and threatening in that era shiranui needed to kill orochi but with so much thing happening that why shiranui couldn't beat yami

Also I'm I the only one who like yoshpet? I always been in love reading forest book especially between fantasy or horror
So I just love it I know the race is hard if you don't know the layout well but I learned it pretty quick but I do understand
Anyway love that area

I gotta love the sounds the games has for everything it just fits perfectly
From animals to demons
To blooming to hearing waves
The thunders and even sometimes cursed zone because sounds creepy like it's damaging you

I gotta say this I love the Rao, Himiko and otohime arc
Like that whole part was awesome I didn't expect Rao to he ninetails and wow that transformation of otohime just wow
Its my favorite part of the story especially the boss fight was just so cool

Also I love fishing in this game so much I have no idea why lol

Now I'm gonna add some dislike aside from ball pushing
Samikle -.- he just so boring idk just don't like him
Misable dog when you are in the 100 year past you must feed him if you want to have 100% fed dog
1 Misable demon and it's when your small going thru the emperor place and I hate that I can't find it nowhere -.-

Short? The main story alone is a little over 35 hours lol

I played this game for the first time recently. I got it on Steam during the summer sale. I stopped because I wanted to play Skyrim for a bit and it was really annoying to play on the PC. But I got a PC controller that let's me just use it like a console, so I might pick it up again. It was really cute and really fun. My husband made me play it with the sound off, though, because he said the "voices" of the characters drove him nuts, lol.

My brother has the game for the PS2 (i think) and he likes it a lot. I wanted to get it for the Switch but it's over 9gb. :/ I'm hoping it'll release physically over here eventually, so far it's Japan only for physical (although, it has options for English language which is nice).

Its sounds like you don't think I'm telling the truth that I finished Okami in one week.
here is the thing I finish games pretty fast like botw in 2 weeks Twilight Princess in 3 weeks, and other games I mostly finished in 3,4,2,or 1 week and so you know I can't put down a whole list of games I finished shorty because there are so many games out there that I can't always remember when I finished them. btw are you stalking me because it feels like you are.

Its on the PS4 if that what you mean because I never heard of Okami on a PS2.

what is this like I have to tell the whole world that I finished Okami pretty fast. Anyways I go through games fast just like Okami and that's another thing why I never really remember things from story mode games, so yeah to me the game felt short.

I replied to you on a thread, how is that stalking you? Lol I don't get it. Forums are made for conversation, sorry if that upsets you, but people will reply to your posts if they have something to say. And no, I never said I didn't believe you, I've just honestly never heard of anyone calling a game like Okami "short" before, the game is pretty long, definitely one of the longest I've played. In fact I'd say it's longer than most Zelda games. Just wanted to make sure you had actually finished it because the game can be a little deceiving.

And yes, the game was originally on PS2 but it didn't really take off until the port on Wii.

See this is my problem no one on beltree never believes me and another thing I don't lie on beltree. And I'm saying that it seems like your stalking me because your trying to say things about me, like I have a bad avatar and now your saying that I'm lying to you, which I'm not at all.

Okay this is obviously going no where. I've replied to you, what... twice in separate threads on here? Seems like you took my comment on the avatar rating thread too seriously (when it wasn't even a bad comment, I said the image was nice but whatever), and I literally just told you I didn't think you were lying. You need to stop being so defensive about people's responses to your posts and stop derailing threads. If you've got a problem with me personally, then feel free to talk to me about it over VM/PM, but discussion threads like this aren't the right place.

Back on topic: I'm curious how many people have played Okamiden, actually. I've never bothered to look for a copy but if it holds up to the standards of its predecessor then I'd consider getting it.

I have problems of reading stuff in different ways irl, so that's why I said it sounds like your not believing me and I'm not defensive about people.

I think I gave Okamiden a try but never finished it. Not sure why, it seemed like a great successor! I must hunt it down again...I can't remember if I played it via emulation or actually having it(pretty sure it was the former)...though playing via emulation is a pain 'cause you use the mouse in lieu of the stylus. Physical copy would be better!

Okami is a wonderful game, probably one of my all time favorites. However, I also felt it was short. Buuuut that may have been because I played it virtually non stop over summer break the year it came out. I remember getting upset when the ending credits played, and wishing for more.
I have played Okamiden, I still have it but need to finish. Its still a decent game but not quite as amazing as its predecessor.

I love okamiden I never finish it since my 3ds got damaged
And by the time i got a new one
I gave it to a friend that like okamiden too...
He lost it :(
