Your Predictions for Switch 2 Launch Titles

not hopeful about AC6 coming out any time soon, but strangely, i’m thinking we’ll get a mainline pokemon/gen 10 installment

I may be called a normie, but I only see Mario Kart 9 being the only Switch 2 launch title. Everything else would have to wait a little longer.

I can see Smash 6 releasing in late 2025/early 2026.

As bold of a take as it is, I'm inclined to agree with Paperboy that Mario Kart 9 will be the only Switch 2 title at launch. I mean, realistically there may be a few others, but they'll most likely be obscure games or party games that not many people care about, lol. If they release any other big titles aside from MK9 at launch I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I could see that happening. Mario Kart as the highlight 1st party title. Maybe 1-2 Switch ports, or games releasing almost in parallel for Switch and Switch 2 (like Pokemon Legends ZA or Metroid Prime 4?). Probably a couple kiddie or party games from 3rd parties. And maybe a port of a sports game from EA or something similar.

see, this is what i feel like i’m predicting. maybe not pokemon launch title so much as a parallel release, and the benefits of playing it on switch 2 will be better graphics/load times?

I'm thinking Mario Kart as the main title. I thought the idea of it being the only release game was a bit silly tbh, but the more I think about the more I think it's a very Nintendo think to do. Then they'll just have switch ports/upscaled games maybe.

Pokemon Legends ZA for both Switch and Switch 2 like they did for Zelda, but maybe a month or so after the Switch 2 comes out.

Definitely Mario Kart since there has been an actual MK game since 8 on the Wii U that wasn’t mobile or required you you pay a lot for a toy kart which you are forced to use to play the game and is a nightmare to try to use if you live in a small house or apartment. It’s time that fans of the series got a proper new release. My other guesses are a couple of Wii U ports like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD and an enhanced version of Kirby Rainbow Curse since the Kirby Wii games (minus the Kirby Collection) got ports on the 3DS and Switch. Rainbow Curse would work nicely with the Joy Con Mouse controller mode.
