Youtuber Etika missing

May he Rest In Peace. I didn’t know the man personally, but I can already tell a lot of people loved his work. So, to honor him, I’m going to go back and watch his stuff if I can. I need to be able to watch it and be cheered up... just once please. :(

He was a good man. I never knew he had those sorts of disorders and stuff....

That?s why awareness of these issues is so important. It?s hard to tell who around us is suffering?the best we can do is treat everyone with compassion and respect.

The amount of comments during this issue had me disgusted, on instagram i saw people making memes of him jumping off a bridge, I hate how when a person dies some has to profit off of their deaths for instance, imjaystation, He made an etika oujia board challenge video and he monetized it in order to gain profit, I followed etika during his mental breakdown as he livestreamed himself while the police were at his apartment he was detained and released few hours later. If the police knew that he was REALLY mentally ill and had issues they would have kept him in longer. In his last and final video, he did state that he wanted help but due to his behavior and outbursts he pushed away those closest to him, Sometimes i wonder if during his video he had started to reconsider suicide but during this time he wasn?t in his right mind, you could really see the pain in his eyes as he walks toward that bridge. If there was someone who could have came over to him and talk to him he would have changed his mind.

OH SO THAT IS WHAT THE OUjia board thing I saw on instagram. I was confused why would someone do that. turns out it's for money =/

i had friends who watched etika, and even though i didn't watch him regularly his influence in the nintendo (especially the smash) community was huge, it was hard to not be affected by his passing. i wish the help he needed was recognized before it was too late. i was upset for the rest of the afternoon upon hearing the news. he'll be missed by so many, he was such an iconic guy.

people are making memes and whatnot pertaining to his death and using the excuse that it's "what he would have wanted." although i understand where that comes from knowing what kind of guy he was, it still really rubs me the wrong way that people are making fun of a suicide so soon after it's happened. plus the fact that his death is being used on clickbait-y videos makes me sick.

i have seen people do kind things in memoriam, such as little memorial services and art, and that makes me smile. it's nice that people are coming together to come to terms with the horrible situation.

it sucks we'll never get to see his reactions to nintendo directs ever again.

According to a secretary at a local mental health place, if family member can't bring someone in, they have to come in willingly, or it will escalate to the point police have to escort them to the hospital. I felt obligated to inquire about this, having to deal with other people.

i watched him a lot back in 2014-2015 for sm4sh related news. he seemed like a cool guy, and at the time for me he had a refreshing personality. i stopped watching his content for the most part in 2017 though, my humor changed a bit from his kind of material but it really do be like that sometimes.

i understand that it was frustrating to see someone push the help they can get out of the way, but he really didn't deserve the backlash to that extent. the guy was obviously really troubled in the mind but a lot of his fans are either young or complete edgelords so they wouldn't be able to understand the situation.

his twitter became a complete dumpster fire. for his cryptic and worrying tweets sure, but more towards the people desperate for e clout in the replies of his tweets. be the first one to reply with a clown and you're golden for all of that juicy e clout.

it makes me really sad to think that it had to turn out this way. i hope he's doing well wherever he is. rest in peace.
also uhhhhhh this isn't the place to tell everyone how much you hated his content or to embarrass yourself with a "you won't be missed" post, forever quoted for everyone to see!

i actually found etika though his memes. soon after, i started watching his content. i always loved his over-the-top and funny reactions. it sucks that things had to end this way for him.

Who ever said ?you won?t be missed? is very disrespectful

I heard on twitter someone is selling a Nintendo Switch claiming it belonged to Etika. Whyyyy.......
Absolutely disgusting that these douchebags now trying to make profit out of his death.

That guy named ImJayStation who made that video with the ouija board is such a idiot, instead
of deleting the video, he just changed the title of it, now trying to "apologize" for this. The amount
of people who have zero sympathy and respect for Etika's death is just terrible and disgusting. Whoever thinks it's "funny" to make memes out of his death should maybe stay away from the internet for a long time as well as rethinking of what they doing here.

Imo I think it's actually worse if you lie to people about such things. Pretending to care while you really don't hurts people more than just saying it outright lmao

But this is in the context of my previous post in this thread, saying that someone won't be missed is a step too far I agree
