I think Marshal would honestly have a really hard time winning because in my experience pretty much everyone who doesn't love him despises him for being overrated.
The only villagers I liked out of the selection were Yuka, Bill, Sally, Bunnie, Flurry, Kiki, Merry, Roald, Cheri, and Bonbon, and not many of those are even that high on my favourites list.
