Hey. So I first played the game last year for a few days and didn't get into it. Now I am playing again and have been for a week. Trying not to read to many spoilers online and trying to figure out the game myself. I would like some friends but nervous about people destroying my town. Can I visit other peoples towns without them coming to mine?
. Right now I have a broken foot cause I got hurt at work so I have plenty of time to play. When I begin a game i get addicted. Super excited to make some friends.

Tbh I don't think anyone here would destroy your town.
We have a rating system here, so even if they did anything you didnt like, you could just flip the switch and give them a bad rating aha

Thanks for the welcome! I was thinking that there would have to be some sort of system like that. Hmm what is acceptable to do in someone else's town. I read that buying something from their stores is bad. I wouldn't want to be mean to anyone I visit so what shouldn't I do when in another town?
 
I think most people have different rules for their town. I guess the big one is don't run on the grass. Don't take flowers or items on the ground. But I mean other than that if you find someone you want to visit or visa versa just send them a pm/vm about their town rules.
 
What about taking fruit from trees. Does it need to be a perfect one to take back to my town so i can grow that fruit too. I wouldn't want to "Steal" a perfect fruit. Is there anywhere I can read this basic info online? I feel bad for probably asking the same questions everyone has.
 
the only perfect fruit that will grow into a perfect fruit tree I'd your native fruit.
If you want to grow other fruit in your town planting a normal fruit will do.
As for taking fruit from someone's town. Just ask before doing so. Some people have an orchid which is free and some have baskets of fruit pre made. But yeah. Just ask when you visit. I personally have baskets made up. Because the fruit trees on my paths are purely for looks haha

You'll just have to ask that specific person if they're ok with that, not everyone will want you to take their fruit, but I suppose a lot of people wouldn't mind at all.

I'm super uber new, so my town doesn't have all that much; but if you'd like to visit mine anyway, I'm up for it.

I haven't visited or had anyone visit my town before though, do we both have to have each other's friend codes added? And is there anything else I have to do?

You must add each other and you go inside the train station and talk to porter!

Pick open your gates > farway town> yes> and the gates should open
