Yeah you’re out of luck since it was a limited time thing. You can still buy a code off eBay though. (Or get lucky and get one for free somehow...) Just make sure it’s a code if you’re buying off eBay since anything else is most likely hacked.
Or wait until USA/the rest of the world gets a “Dada” form event which hasn’t been released outside Japan yet.

Yeah. It was limited time, and it was very difficult to get (especially in the US). I got one from a French website, which required me to sign up for some sort of account, then wait for a code in an email. That email took about a week to arrive. I thought it didn't work for a number of days. Then...bam. There it was. Definitely one of the most annoying promotions for an in-game character/content that I can ever remember. Pokemon in general has terrible promotions, tbh. It's always hoop after hoop, and it's always region locked for no good reason. You can really tell how much the Pokemon Company hates their fans. Lol.
It was a limited time thing like others have said, but don’t feel too bad about missing it. Apparently from what I was reading a little while back, the Pokémon company was having problems distributing the codes out to everyone and it had something to do with emails, like gmail and a few others. The event for Zarude was with the Pokémon Trainer Club on the Pokémon website and even though lots of people signed up for it, they didn’t receive the codes because of their emails. I can’t quite remember the whole article I was reading, but short story simple, a lot of people got ripped off and didn’t get the codes for the event, myself included. I don’t even receive emails from the Pokémon Trainer Club anymore.

I actually just paid money on Pokémon 4Ever to get my Zarude. Only cost me 5 bucks. Saves me the agony of checking the Pokémon news every now and then.
Legit Pokémon for sale. How about that? Wonders of technology. How far we've come since the RBY days and the Missingno hacks. Time to go see if they have a Marshadow...
Honestly, I didn't even know this was a thing. I literally just typed "Pokémon for sale" into Google. Gotta love Google. Always surprises me every now and then.
You've got your 6IVs, your shinies, etc. I think the value of rare Pokémon have plummeted way down low now that this website exists, when you could just pay a measly five bucks for a Zarude. It's like how some currencies have no value anymore because of saturation, right? Same thing. Shinies were already pretty worthless for a while now with how easy it is to get, but this is a new low. lol And I love it! Now everyone can get every Pokémon easily with just a few dollars.
But seriously though, someone's losing money out there. $5? Well, technically, it's not even $5 since it's actually $4 in the US currency. If I have a rare Pokémon like that, I'd sell it for $500 at least. lmao
In fact, now that I think about it, I seem to recall certain smugs back in the RBY days who actually sold their Mew for tons of money. lol Man, those were the days, when Mew could make you a fortune. Thank god PETA didn't interfere; they'd be all "It's animal smuggling!" or some dumb BS like that.

I was considering buying a zarude too, but I'm afraid of getting a hacked one.
I also have a dumb thing where I don't want somebody else's trainer name on a pokémon; I want to be the original trainer.
That's why I never considered buying shiny mons despite how tedious farming for one is. I like my useless, digital glitter pristine. Bhaha
