  • Hey. I managed to come up with some ideas for the rooms if you'd like to hear them?
Ah, Aave looks great! That is quite the coincidence lol. Not just that, Aave and Arlon have the same face and the same haircut, too. Arlon's hair is black, though. They could actually be brothers! And as cute as Buck is, there's no way I could ever get rid of him. ^^
Aaand I just found out one of the villagers, Buck, shares his birthday with Arlon. The odds, man.
I'm glad you asked! Arlon is a fairly lax individual and exudes a strong and mysterious aura. He's individualistic and enjoys being alone. He isn't antisocial, but if you don't start the conversation, Arlon has no problem sitting in a comfortable silence. He's also very polite and likes to keep up a good appearance. Which makes sense, considering what he works as.

Arlon is a funeral director, and spends most of his time prepping corpses for burial in his basement. He likes the smell of formaldehyde, which is one of the chemicals used during embalming. He often loses sleep due to his dedication, as he believes in cherishing the dead. I apologize if this is getting lengthy, I sort of have a thing for character design lol.
Thanks a bunch!! All of this is actually really helpful. Just another little detail, but Arlon can speak in Latin. Since it's you know, a dead language lol.
Care to share them with me? And right now I don't have any plans for other human residents, but I sort of have the mayor's personality figured out. Their name is Arlon, by the way. ^^
Thanks! I like to think that attention to detail really adds depth, it gives visitors stuff to think about as they pull back the layers. Now I just gotta pick up my stuff from my other town and do some more planning. I'll also probably make the tumblr today or tomorrow, depending on the circumstances, and start posting updates as the town progresses.
I spoke too soon because I actually just found a town with oranges, three ponds, and a long winding river lol. I ended up picking the name Memento for several reasons. Have you heard of the term "memento mori"? It's meaning suggests that we all must remember that we will die someday. Not just that, but the Japanese title for Animal Crossing is Dobutsu no Mori (Animal Forest), giving the name a double meaning of sorts. As an added bonus, I think I'll make my mayor's birthday April 4, since 4 is the number commonly associated with death in Japan. How does all of that sound?
Thanks. It's a good thing there's no end to terrible maps. I've reset about eight times now, and believe it or not, I haven't found a town with oranges. I've seen cherries twice, peaches three times, pears once, and apples twice.
I've created a thread asking for assistance on choosing the name for my town if you're interested.
Sure. It's going to be a graveyard themed town. In the thread, lots of people mentioned a long, winding river that creates peninsulas. I plan on making the layout work for me and use those peninsulas for the rows or columns of headstones. Too many ponds was also mentioned quite a few times, but since I plan on saving the DA while it's raining, lots of ponds will actually make sense. Lastly, I happen to have a dozen baskets of perfect oranges, and I'm going to need dozens of dead trees in the town, so the native fruit being oranges is essential. Funny how that works lol.
Thanks! I'm actually having trouble picking a name for the town. The theme of the town and the layout I'm looking for have already been decided, but I have like 8 different names that I like and I can't decide lol.
