  • Yeah we have Reception in our school system too. It is a little strange. I suppose Kindergarten (American) pretty much the same as it too.
I'm sorry to hear that. I have a couple of friends going into the army right now, and my Grandpa was in the Korean war I believe. It's good to be respectful to veterans.
One of the teachers accidentally ended up talking during the moment of silence, and she ended up getting in trouble.
We have a day like that called memorial day. We also have moments of silence on September 11th and on December 7th.
Sounds good! I'm having trouble thinking of other holidays, because I know that you wouldn't celebrate the 4th of July or Thanksgiving. Do you guys do anything in November?
That sounds really cool! Our easters are pretty dull. Except sometimes we have sushi for our easter dinner.
When I was little we used to decorate eggs and hide it in the back yard for my sister and me to find. But since I'm older, I usually just hide eggs for my little cousins and stuff. My family isn't religious, so we don't go to church or anything like that, we usually just have the egg hunt and a nice dinner.
So... that would be... Year 6 here in Britain? I'm quite confused when it comes to comparing our school system to America's and Australia's.
Yeah, because at least Slender doesn't watch you 24/7 and break into your house to eat food. When I was 9, my dad put a giant plastic Santa facing into my window, and wouldn't move it until after Christmas. And it was a scary looking Santa.
That's funny. I just think it's weird that "Santa" gave my sister a toaster for Christmas.
We do celebrate Christmas. My tradition is getting up at around 6 AM while my dad starts a fire and blares cheesy Christmas tunes, (usually by Elvis) and my mom cooks breakfast while my sister and I open our presents. We always get calenders and clothes come in the same boxes. My mom also still signs all the presents with Santa's name despite the fact that both my sister and I are adults. After opening everything, we go to our Aunt's house and have a big dinner with our family.
