  • Hi, HappyTails! (Hopefully you're not angry tails at the moment x) ) Say, would it pehaps be ok for me to get some signatures from your town? I'm in dire need for them and a little short on time... I'd offer to bring you some gifts if I didn't know your vow, but even so, would it be ok? Thanks you! :)
oh sorry I didn't mean that at all. I just find your threads funny and awesome! ^-^
They honestly make my day haha. :)
You're welcome! I did think that real life was giving you problems, and didn't want you to go too crazy about your game problems. I hope my info cleared things up for you. :)
    About your troubles...

I have a theory about the rates of rare bugs and fish: They change from day to day - and they might be based on health luck. For instance: When I got the Saddle Bichir, the Arowana and Gar appeared beforehand. When I got the Petaltail Dragonfly, I also caught a large number of other rare bugs and fish as well as I went by - and I had good health luck when I did. The King Salmon came along with a Pike as I walked by.

Also, another thing: Sometimes, even the most common fish can really refuse to show up in a day. When a villager asked me to catch, say, a Pale Chub, I fished over 2 hours in my town without a single one showing up. I went to an Island tour instead to get one. This actually happened to me in other common fish requests, too!

This tells me that the rates of rarity change from day to day. Don't get too discouraged!
I'm actually a fan of the theory that Rover was supposed to be mayor instead of us, but Isabelle is totally the one in charge.
That would be cool. Isabelle and Tortimer would be our royal council. I wonder what kinda stuff we'd have to do as far as PwPs and such go.
True. We all know who is really pulling the ropes behind the scenes ;)
I wonder if in the next game we'll get to be monarchs instead of mayors.
Yeah, I don't like when all the villagers are clustered together. It feels unnatural and suburban, and I hate the suburbs. I feel like villagers should be able to move where they want, though it'd be nice if they asked permission first.
Yeah, that's pretty much how I've always played, too. I've never understood why people get so upset over things like villager house placement. But I did reset once because of a pond right in front of my Main Street.
Just try not to focus so much on having a *perfect* town. Focus instead on having a *finished* town. Also maybe put some tape over the reset button.

    Jk. Jk.

Sorry I couldn't say something more inspiring.
I just wanted to say that I really hope you stick with your town of Ossipri. I really enjoy reading about your progress updates in the forums.
The jaw surgery was routine, it's just an annoying recovery where they wire your teeth shut for one month to make sure it stays in place or whatever while it heals. haha I get the wires off tomorrow morning though! I switch to soft foods then, I'm so excited. omg Funyuns sound so good right now. Being hungry and no one being able to understand what I say when I talk has made me easily frustrated I think. haha Oh, as far as resetting goes - when you feel the urge to, maybe try to just sit through the temptation/anxiety/frustration or whatever you're feeling when you want to reset. Like it's super hard, but if you're able to like give yourself a pep talk and tell yourself the feeling will pass if you wait it out, it usually gets easier and easier to talk yourself out of a habit you're trying to break. The difficulty of depends on how bad the habit is of course, but if you can manage it it's very effective and gets easier and easier.
    (c) So yeah, I felt really bad about the whole thing and I’m glad you messaged me. I feel a lot better. ADHD and Aspergers are certainly real disorders and I hate when people use those lightly too! My doctor actually wants to test me for attention deficit (once my jaw is healed and I can talk and eat again). I can relate to some of the stuff you said about doing a million things at once. If you ever feel like talking about it or anything that feels like obsession/compulsion feel free to message me any time. I have a lot of personal experience with mental illness and I’m a psychology student, so the subject is really interesting to me. Hope there’s no hard feelings!

Sorry mine is really really long too, haha I tend to over type.
Hey, thanks so much for the nice message. I really like you, and enjoy seeing things you have to say on the forums and I didn’t mean to make it weird by being sensitive about it. I wasn’t trying to start an argument, make you feel bad, tell you what you do or do not have or anything like that. I just struggled with OCD for yeaaars without treatment not knowing what it was, because I only knew the misconceptions and once I was diagnosed and figured out what it actually was, I was able to get treatment (which has been a lot of work) and I started doing way better and so sometimes it bothers me when I see people using it lightly or incorrectly, because if I was aware of what it really was (if the misconceptions didn’t exist) I could have maybe gotten help sooner. I think I’m especially sensitive right now, because I haven’t eaten solid foods in a month because of a jaw surgery and it’s making me tired. (c)
I'm so glad you're back! I restarted my physical copy of acnl and am now on the same journey as you! ^ ^
I'm debating asking for villagers. I probably won't. And like I said earlier, this challenge forces me to think creatively and I've found ways to replace other items that I'd have to buy here since there's no way for me to get them :D
Something else going solo does, is make this game feel less like a business. If I ask for any help, it's the train station upgrade. But when you trade or sell or buy, it feels like you're managing a business. :(
We should visit each other's towns when we're done with them (if both of us are still using the site that is haha). Be proud of our solo towns~
