If you ever have time after you've taken your test, go back over it and check your work. You'll be amazed at what you catch! If your fractions are ever even on top and bottom, simplify it further. If they're odd and not multiples of each other, they won't simplify further but if they are, you can get them down further.

When your take your tests just breathe and take it one step at a time. Remember the key words as well when you have to work with word problems (which I always found the hardest to solve). "Sum" means addition, "Difference" means subtraction, "Product" means multiplication, and "Quotient" means division. "A number" or "some number" usually refers to X. Also remember that Multiplication and Division come before addition and subtraction if you're solving algebraic problems. -
