Haha, I know the feeling. That's what I love about Animal Crossing myself. Monster Hunter has a whole lot of stuff to collect, which to me makes me really addicted to it, similar to Animal Crossing. Helps that I was addicted to it when I was a kid too, but I play it now far more than I really should...
