Yeah maybe quit the game and restart? I've been googling it and a lot of peolpe have the same problem, but one suggestion was to add each other while out of the game and then restart. So maybe that will help?

Hello! I think if one of us unfriends the other and then adds back just before a trade, we should show up on each other's guest list again! We also should add each other to the VIP list next time so we don't have to search for later trades. Let me know when you're available again!
I'm sorry! I don't know why it's so frustrating to find each other. One guide says a soft reset might help which is left + right + select, if you want to try that.
