Now that the 15th Anniversary Time Capsule has been unveiled, it is time to bury a new one to celebrate Twenty Years on The Bell Tree! This time we are burying two capsules, one to be opened in 2029 and another to be opened in 2034. We are looking to capture the essence of what our community looks like in 2024 for future members (and our future selves) to find!
Part 1: Dear Future Me
In Dear Future Me, you are tasked with writing a letter to your future self, similar to the ones we recently revealed from the 2019 Time Capsule. These letters will be hidden away and re-emerge in 2029. What would you like to say to your future self? Who do you want that person to be? What do you hope to achieve in the next five years, whether it be on TBT or in your personal life? Keep in mind these letters will be made public again in the future, so take care with how much personal information you choose to include.
You can find the Dear Future Me thread here.
Deadline: 11:59PM EST November 15th 2024.
Part 2: Dear Future TBT
In Dear Future TBT, you are tasked with writing a letter to TBT's future community. These letters will not resurface until ten years from now in 2034. How much will TBT's community change between now and then? How many of our current friends will still be here, and how many new faces will have become regulars in that time? If there's anything you want to share with TBT's future community about what it is like to be a member in 2024, this is your opportunity to do so!
You can find the Dear Future TBT thread here.
Deadline: 11:59PM EST November 15th 2024.
Part 3: Shoebox Memories
In Shoebox Memories, we are looking for you to answer some questions about TBT, Animal Crossing, and your hopes and predictions for the future.
You can find the Shoebox Memories survey here.
Deadline: 11:59PM EST November 15th 2024.
Prizes
What else do you think you should be included in our time capsules?
If there is any information you'd be interested in seeing about 2024 when we dig these time capsules up then please drop your ideas below. Please also specify if your idea is 2029-specific, 2034-specific, or applies to both.
