Who else is excited for possible short videos we?ll be able to take of our islands? I?m not talking about the in-game photo app but rather the switch?s record feature. For those who don?t know, the switch console allows you to record the last 30 seconds of your gameplay from the moment you press the button. You can then trim it/upload it onto your twitter if you have one. I think not all switch games allow for video capture but a lot do, and I?m hoping that new horizons is one of them! It?s not much, but it?s a nice way to upload and share short town tours and cute/funny moments. Maybe the in-game phone app will have some kind of video feature as well? I?m guessing posting directly to twitter with custom QRs and designs will be a thing too. What do you guys think?

I completely forgot about this feature. That's really exciting! If this feature is available for NH I can really see it being useful for forum-related contests or activities too. It would be fun to show off something you did in your town.

Dude yeahhhh that’s a great idea for future contests! Like a room tour for an interior design contest or even a little fashion show. I’m actually really excited to see the random clips that will be posted on Twitter through acnh’s hashtag.

I started to use the capture function whenever something crazy happened and I wanted to save that
moment. I can already imagine how people will share their funny moment which they captured. Can't
wait to use it for the first time in the game.

Oh, that's in fact a pretty cool idea!

I used that function a lot for Skyrim and Breath of the Wild. It’s great to capture funny moments.

Twitter is going to be absolutely flooded with screenshots and videos once this game launches. It's gonna be great.

I totally forgot about the capture video and I do agree! I'm excited to use this to possibly make some new avatars or signatures. At least, I think I might be able to do that? Probably will have to figure it out later, but if anyone who does this too and tries it out for signatures or avatars, would you let me know? I would love to have more animated avatars. :)

Also, I love your idea using the capture video for contests! It sounds really fun!

Yeah that's definitely going to be a possibility! The big problem with the 3DS was the only way to have any sort of recorded videos (of quality) was with a capture card. Of course, you'd still need one for longer videos but you could definitely capture short moments that could be gif'd into in avatars and signatures with the switch's record feature.

It's nice to see that with each iteration of nintendo's consoles they are bringing easier ways to share game content. These 30-second videos are essentially like free promotion for nintendo. Long enough to show what you need to and short enough that people wont get bored watching it... it's like clickbait haha :p It's kinda smart on Nintendo's end in that sense.

I don't own a Switch yet, but I'm excited to have higher quality assets from the game than what was previously available (other than with that of City Folk).

Oh wow! I had no idea that this feature was a thing that was going to be included! That is really exciting:) I will probably forget but hopefully I will discover it at the time. It is some of these smaller changes that I am so looking forward to.

I’m going to enjoy taking videos of funny online moments. I took so many photos in New Leaf to the point of my SD card running out of space, so I’m definitely ready for a new game with new memories!
