A Little Prologue

Here's the final part of the prologue! I didn't plan on writing beyond this point since after the tree planting ceremony game events become completely random. I was planning on basing things Cynthia does off of things I do in-game since I'll be able to actually understand what's being said. I want to make this series a comic. The comic wouldn't just focus on Cynthia either. All of the characters would get their times in the spotlight. There's still a few villagers who'll be moving in, as well! Including the fox that is my username's namesake! And I still have to properly introduce Copper!

I'm glad so many people have enjoyed what I wrote! I plan on posting my comics on a Tumblr once I make them and get an account, but I'm more than willing to share the comics here as well since everyone has been so nice to me! Thank you all for reading! :)

When Cynthia entered the Town Hall, Isabelle was waiting for her. She smiled and readied the papers on her desk as Cynthia approached her.

"So how did it go? Did you find a nice place to live, Miss Mayor?" Isabelle asked.

"Yes I did! I'm going to be living next door to Mocha. But until everything gets settled and the house is actually built I'm going to be living in a tent," Cynthia replied, "I don't really mind though. It'll be like camping."

"I see! Mocha's a really nice girl. She's friends with Kite, right? My brother works with him," Isabelle smiled, "Aren't you excited? I bet your house will look great once it's finally built!"

She showed Cynthia her paperwork. She'd filled out all the information she knew, she just needed Cynthia to write down her date of birth. Cynthia took a pen a quickly wrote it down; October Fourteenth. Isabelle took the papers and ran them through a machine on her desk. After a few moments a card popped out. She handed it to Cynthia.

"This is your village pass card! Everyone in Moonvale has one. You're going to need it from now on if you plan on visiting any nearby towns! It works in place of needing to buy a ticket!" Isabelle explained.

"Wow, really? That's really neat!" Cynthia said with a smile, "So is there anything else I need to do, Isabelle?"

"Yes, actually. There's one more thing I'd like to do!" Isabelle said with a smile, "Did you see the town plaza on the map? The big paved stone area? That's where we hold all the big events here in Moonvale. I want you to take a sapling there and plant it. It'll grow into a big tree that will be the symbol of our town!"

Isabelle took a healthy looking sapling from the space under her. The two hurried out of the Town Hall and made their way towards the Plaza. Some of the other villagers saw them and followed, wondering what they were up to. When they reached the plaza, the eagle, both of the wolf girls, Mocha, and Kite had joined them. A lion man quickly hurried over, nearly tripping over his two feet.

"Did I miss something important?" the lion asked.

"No, Rex. You're just in time," said Kite, "Our new mayor is about to plant that tree Isabelle's been talking about."

Isabelle politely waited for Rex to catch his breath before she began to speak.

"Now, Mayor Cynthia," Isabelle said with a smile, "Take this tree and plant it! I hope that as it grows, Moonvale will grow as well!"

Cynthia smiled and took the sapling from her. She knelt down and dug her hands into the dirt. She carefully transplanted the sapling and buried its roots. Isabelle and the other villagers began to clap as she stood up. She blushed deeply and rubbed the back of her head. They all looked so happy. The pink wolf wiped a dramatic tear from her eye. The eagle and blue wolf rolled their eyes.

"Mayor Cynthia!" Isabella said with a wide smile, "Congratulations on becoming Mayor! I can't wait to see what kind of things you do to help our little village become a bigger, more exciting place!"

"Congratulations, Cynthia!" Mocha said happily.

She ran over and gave Cynthia a hug so big it rivaled the one her mother had given her before leaving her on the train. Kite chuckled with a small smile and walked over after her. Isabelle laughed.

"Feel free to take the rest of the day off, Miss Mayor," said Isabelle, "Take some time to get to know the villagers and do whatever you like! I've still got some work to do in the town hall, but if you need help with anything or need to find something to do, feel free to come talk to me!"

Without another word, Isabelle happily trotted off back towards the town hall. Cynthia looked back down at the sapling at her feet. It was so small right now. She wondered how tall it would be when it was fully grown. Her home town also had a tree in its plaza. It was huge and there was a wishing well at the base of it. Moonvale was so much different than her home town, Sunville. The feelings of fear and nervousness she'd had on the train ride with Rover were long gone. She smiled to herself. He new life was going to be more exciting that she'd ever dreamed!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! I would be thrilled to see this as a comic book! As I said before I really love your writing style. It sucks me in and after I finish reading I always wish there was more to read :)

You should definitely pursue writing a novel. I'd buy a copy. b^-^d

Funny you should say that! xD I actually AM writing a novel! :p I have the whole thing planned out, I just have to write the danged thing! It's something I constructed with my boyfriend. ^.^ Fantasy~

Omg! So awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't stop! I'm hooked! After you finish, I think I'll print out your posts and staple them into a book for my shelf. I can tell this will be one of my favorites.

Wow, you like it that much, Mary? I'm very flattered! :)

I suppose I'll need to continue writing this then! lol I'd hate to disappoint people who want to see more! This is actually my first time really writing and sharing what would count as fanfiction with anyone on the internet like this, so it's the first time I've ever been urged to continue a story. I'll continue writing this as I work on the comic then! Though I'm not sure when the next part will come out since I'm going to try to get a few pages of the comic done before I continue writing.

Yes, I love it. So you don't think I'm crazy? Oh, and I don't mean to rush you. Take your time.

Oh no, of course I don't think I'm crazy! If I had plenty of paper to spare I'd probably print out a story I enjoyed as well! :)

I've never actually drawn a comic before. Already drew page one but I gotta scan it and work on it in Photoshop, might do that in a day or two, already started drawing the second page.
