A question about Nintendo DS's

Well, I decided that I should stop my life of getting ROMs for my DS games.
So I ordered a Japanese game off eBay.
The question is, is the Nintendo DS region-free?
I would like some proof if you can provide me with some since the game cost me quite a sum of money ( ^.^;
