A simple improvement that would make the game a lot better

How would you feel with the introduction of wind?

I just thought of a thing that would - and hopefully will - make the game a lot more vibrant: wind.
I know, it sounds weird but I just realized that one of the main reasons why I left New Leaf is that it didn't seem alive to me anymore.

Now imagine a new Animal Crossing, with jaw-dropping graphics, a brand new illumination system and flowers, branches and leaves which react at the force of wind. I'm already in love.

I know it's not much, but that could be a game changer in my opinion.

My secret dream is getting rid of the rolling log effect and to have a full 3D camera over the shoulders of the villager though.

Not sure how this would be implemented without screwing everything up, but really strong gusts of wind that knock over trees and damage roof tiles would be interesting. You'd have to battle through the winds to get wherever you want to go and holding an umbrella is a bad idea.

Yep, not exactly what I was thinking of, but that could work as well lol. I can already see the title:
Animal Crossing: Gathering Storm

All they need to do to make it the best Animal Crossing game ever is to combine ALL the mechanics from New Leaf, Happy Home Designer, and Pocket Camp into one game, then add more furniture, clothes, and maybe a few new villagers and BOOM.

BEST SELLER.

Cool, but there are other priorities (such as the player constantly falling on their face during winter from slipping on ice)

new (junk) item: broken umbrella

If the wind could blow leaves off the trees in the fall, similar to how cherry blossoms fall in April, I would be in heaven.

One thing I really liked about BOTW was just how alive it felt?when the wind blew it interacted with the landscape so beautifully you could almost feel it rushing against your skin.

So yeah, wind in Animal Crossing would probably be pretty great. I'd like more gentle breeze-type stuff over strong rushing winds, though.

id love for there to be wind, it doesnt have to ever damage anything but it would be nice seeing flowers and trees sway a bit and there be occasional windy days as well
more expanded weather as a whole like more actual storms

I’d love for wind to be an ambient feature, but I don’t think we need wind damage or anything. But having some days where everything is dead still and others where there’s a nice breeze would add some interesting weather variety. It’s these little quirks that make lifestyle games for me.

I can really imagine that, it would be nice

Another weather condition that I like to see is fog, and how it would influence what comes out and would disappear after a certain time, I suggest hail as well, but that would be limited to real severe weather like thunderstorms, but it doesn't happen every single time, it would be a rare occerence

Wind would be great, but I'd love to see a more gradual progression of seasons, weather reports, etc. I'm big on the weather and environment! Could you imagine trees that get just slightly less full each day you go on in the fall? And a weather report-although it miight be a bit inaccurate...
Absolutely yes to the hail and fog! More weather all around!

I think it would be great, but I imagine actually implementing it is anything but "simple". Just because it's a small change doesn't mean it's easy to implement.
Also, I'm not sure how well the Switch would deal with something like that, if you look at the newer Pok?mon games. The battles on the 3DS can be so slow sometimes because there are so many small details the system has to load, and my boyfriend and I had some problems with the game lagging in the overworld. If there's even the possibility of the game running slower because of that, it's definitely a feature I can do without.

Everything that makes the game "more alive" is very welcome to me. Would already like
it if the flowers and trees sometimes move because of the wind, like showing that there
is a little breeze right now.

So basically, Animal Crossing: Ultimate

If the wind could blow leaves off the trees in the fall, similar to how cherry blossoms fall in April, I would be in heaven.

This is a amazing idea, I need this in the new game. Speaking of this: In winter when it
snows, the wind could influence how strong it snows and also blow away the snow from
the trees or house roofs a little bit.

Sounds like a lovely idea. It would be something that would definitely keep me coming back everyday. :)

If the game actually implemented this, it would be really fun! Specially if winter days were the windiest, and if you island could experience hurricanes or severe thunderstorms!

Wind is definitely what the game needs at this point, as it is one of the elements that interacts the most with the environment, which is why this would make the game feel more real. I mean, sure, snow falls on top of flowers and trees, covering them, rain falls and touches all the flowers and houses, but wind actually interacts, in the way of making the flowers and the trees move along it.

Great idea! Whenever it's raining heavily in my town, I hear thunder, but they never actually added it, they only added the sound effect. Thunderstorms, gusts of wind, and hurricanes sound like great ideas!
