Where I live it doesn't feel like it's 4th place in terms of preorder.
When I went to BB to preorder the game, the clerk who I went to verify my preorder said that apparently NL isn't as popular as the other titles were and I should be lucky to have preordered it because if I didn't I wouldn't have a chance to pick it up on release via walk-in. Apparently if a title isn't popular enough in terms of BB's standards, they usually only order for preorders or ship-to-store.

Well, I shouldn't complain, I got my game peordered and hopefully when it's the release day they'll have my game.
It's sad to think that I won't get any houses from the streetpass unless I'm really lucky with store displays, but I suppose I shall see.

Wouldn't pre orders become less likely the closer we get to release? I'm not sure I see the point in pre ordering a week or two before release.

You pre-order closer to release to ensure a copy and to not have to spend any of the money until it's closer to time.

I am not preordering a physical copy, I ordered my iPod touch 5g the day you were able to preorder and I got it two weeks later than most people did. Of course there were many many more things being shipped all over the country and it was shipped from shenghai china, but still... I am just going to download and play it safe.

Not updated here for a week or so but the new figures are out. As of the week ending 18th May 2013 the game has gathered 221,927 pre-order copies, gaining a very good 19,084 copies in that week. Weekly numbers are still rising as the release date approaches!

I would be one of those preorders usually, but I'm buying the game digitally this time. If you want it physically at release or soon after release, you might want to look into preording now. I can sense a Fire Emblem Awakening situation on the horizon.

Honestly, I don't think I would mind waiting a couple more days for that epic Isabelle+Town Hall set...(Bet I'm the only one to ever say that)

Those numbers are great. I pre-ordered the bundle because I don't have a 3DS yet, so why not? What is fantastic is that there will be a bunch of downloads too, boosting sales.
