ACNL Unusual Character/System Transfer- Can it be done?

Hello all;
Here's what we'd like to do.

CURRENTLY:
Old 3DS running ACNL (retail cartridge)- Player A = Mayor, Player B = Resident

DESIRED NEW SET-UP:
1 - Old 3DS running ACNL (retail cartridge) - Player B = Mayor
2 - New 3DSXL running ACNL (retail cartridge) - Player A = Mayor

If it can be done, we expect a couple of back and forth transfers.

Can it be done?

It's in fact possible, since you can move your game card to another system without any problem. Heck, it doesn't matter which 3DS you're playing with. No need to perform any System Transfer for this to happen.

By the way, your second game card shouldn't contain a town that was already saved in.

I got it all to work. Thanks for replying.
