"According to a recently released study conducted by the Consumer Electronics Association, women gamers in the 25-34 age bracket far outnumber their male counterparts, surprisingly enough. 65 percent of women in that age bracket are gamers (if only in a casual sense), while only 35 percent of men in that same age group play games."

Is a quote from this website: dlmag.com

According to this article, women gamers in this age group also play mostly simple games such as Minesweeper, Tetris and Solitaire. This article says that all three major major hardware developers (Sony, Mircosoft, Nintendo) are in fact aware of this, for all have started offering "non-traditional games" such as Brain Age.

"However, it might very well be the Revolution that draws in the most casual gamers solely because of the possibilities opened up by its motion-sensitive controller. Much like the risk Nintendo took with the DS, the Revolution could very well see an influx of unconventional games aimed at casual and non-gamers, targets with Nintendo insists need to be drawn into the fold to keep the gaming industry alive."

As you can see, female gamers playing "non-traditional" games is having a major impact on what video games and innovations Nintendo is coming out with.

So, what do YOU think?

Wow, thats pretty cool. I think It's great that Nintendo is looking towards a bigger audience than the competitors. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens when the Rev comes out
