Hello, hello, hello!
I've been playing a little sporadically, but I did manage to redo the minigame section of my island like I said I would like to in my last post, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Aside from that, I've been:

• Adding to my pine forest
• Moving my museum to a new ruins area inspired by sleepydreepy's ruins area on Maui
• Terraforming to make the valley in my map look a little more natural, which included moving Marina's house
• Moving things around in the fair (again! It seems to be a continual process)

I guess I have been playing a lot, haha... Writing this down definitely helps me see where my priorities really lie.

Anyway, here is the new shop area in place of the minigames. I was going for a slightly old-western, very small-town vibe.

"blueberry" farm, and leads to the only furnished beach area I've made

I love your new shop area pics too! Definitely gives off a pleasant small town vibe. Also, I'm usually not one for fairs/carnivals, but I really love your new fair!! I love the style you went for, I haven't seen anyone else do something like this, and it looks really great with your shopping area

Wow, your town is coming along beautifully! The fair area is so cool and unique. I love seeing more of it. I can relate to the conflicting aesthetics issue.

My town is pretty different if you walk from one side of it to the other. And my character is generally dressed as a tourist who doesn't quite get the local culture.

I haven't been able to play recently either. I was excited to come back to an update!

I didn't actually play or change very much today but I hopped on and noticed a very stark change. Everything is SUPER COLORFUL! The hibiscuses I planted all over because I like how they look without flowers are blooming!
I'm just going to post some pictures because I don't feel like writing much-sorry I always take pictures in the same areas

The other day I put on my most New Englandsy outfit and visited one of my favorite towns that I've seen on here, Maplewood! I really, really am missing the fall right now (this definitely didn't help) and was hoping to get some inspiration for my own town. I'm still kind of in disbelief of how cute everything was

I've been suuuuper busy with school but it's gotten to the point that I'm desperately looking for something to do that DOESN'T make me anxious and thankfully I've found out today that animal crossing does not.

I didn't do much at all, just kinda strolled around my town to see if anything has changed much. I guess I don't know exactly what I was expecting now that villagers don't move away on their own. There were a couple of new buggy roommates in my house, though.

I rearranged part of my farm to make room for pumpkins, I'm so happy we have actual "produce" now!! I really hope they add more, I'd love to completely fill my farm with veggies.

I'm so feelin these eyes.... I'm very much into yellow if you can't tell by my room

Villagers not moving away on their own anymore is one of my favorite features of New Horizons.

If I stopped playing New Leaf, it was always kind of an ordeal to come back if I didn't know the move-out situation. I would check the 3ds library to see when I last played and then change the system clock to that day to make sure I didn't miss someone before I did anything else. Because of that New Leaf was never something I felt that comfortable just picking up on a whim after an extended break.

The yellow eyes and your room both look great btw!

Heyo spaghettios!

I'll skip the excuse about not writing anything in a long time because that is not conducive for a ~relaxing journal entry.~

There's a LONG entry today folks, and I'm not going to put any of it in spoilers because I'm the worst


I come with very exciting news (for me)... Dom has joined our ranks!! I LOVE my sweet boy.

Unfortunately his arrival has meant letting go of my sweet pup Goldie. I knew she was not going to be permanent when I invited her to my island, but she will be missed regardless. Rest in pupper.

Anyways, Dom joining us means that I have about half of the sheep I'm looking for! I would still like Vesta, Stella, and maybe Muffy. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding between her and Hazel for my uchi. Muffy fits the sheep and wolf theme but I am just so drawn to Hazel and her eyebrow.

I've also been working on a few areas, including my forest (I was trying to make an entirely dark dirt path area work and it just... really was not happening despite my best efforts), my little path along the river between the city hall and the village, and my entrance (converted it into a little seasonal area and finally have something I'm somewhat happy with now, I'll post a picture once the trees are done growing). In general I'm just adding in more softwood(??? I don't remember what they're called) trees, I had absolutely none before now. Pine as far as the eye could see...
