Air travel

I don't mind them but slight sudden movements like turbulence wakes me up. I can deal with traveling for a few hours but I went on a flight last year that lasted for nearly 14 hours. That's only one flight from Toronto to Taipei! I had to board another flight that lasted for an hour and a half to the Philippines.

Sometimes, I feel like going on flights are testing my patience but why complain? Traveling by plane is probably the fastest method we can use to travel throughout the world. If you look at the history back then, there were no such thing as planes and people take boats just to cross the sea. Worst of all, it takes days if not weeks just to get across the ocean!

The seat I always want to take is just one seat away from the windows. My sister loves sitting by the window and I'm grateful for that because I tend to be afraid of heights (you can get breathtaking views though).

On a side note, I don't know how I was able to handle turbulence and such things just fine when I was a young child. I can sort of handle it now, but I'm miles behind when comparing to my younger self.

I have never heard anything good about Spirit Airlines. Why do people bother with them, I wonder

(a) because they're cheap as ****
(b) because bosses like to save money and book their poor employees on spirit (guess who is on a spirit flight next week :lemon: )

Oh well at least it's only my flight back that's spirit

i haven't been on a plane since i was a baby, so i don't remember what it's like. hoping to go again when i'm older or an adult.

I've never been on a plane before but I get claustrophobic and super fidgety even in movie theaters so you can imagine how a six hour flight would go.

Having just flown recently, it surely was an experience. Felt claustrophobic and nauseated most of the time, but I was able to get it to calm down long enough to play some games on my Switch. Flight wasn't long enough and I didn't really prep beforehand for that part of the trip, but I brought books and hoped to listen to some Podcasts during the flight to pass the time.

i like window seats. tbh im ok with like any airline. but i love how delta gives u biscoff cookies. they are so good.

Last time I flew it was ~13 hours. For the first few hours I played around on the mini TV and watched movies/shows until they served meals. Then after that I went to sleep which I hoped would pass the rest of the time since I was feeling nauseous but I'd wake up every half hour or hour and it was still so long to go.

I like the window seat since looking outside and seeing the brightness helps but for my flight everyone had their windows closed so :(

I heard the leg room is horrible and they charge you for anything more than the air you breathe.

Here is a random thought for you guys- do you think planes should have a little jail cell for misbehaving passengers? I had one old guy ignore a flight attendant's instructions to move his seat up so I could eat my in flight meal. (Well, he put his seat up and put it back the second she left.) I've been thinking about it and thought if there was a jail cell for passengers, maybe people would behave better.

Haha that's actually a good idea. The main reason I hate flying is being stuck in a small area with random people who tend to be jerks. I don't mind crying kids because they might be scared and it can be hard to calm them down. But kids who just kick your seat or jerks like the guy you mentioned, yeah they should go to air jail haha.

Wow, that would be funny. :p I think there would be too many people complaining about that though. I can see the flight attendant abusing that privilege of being able to put people in airplane jail. Still, this is actually a very funny idea!

People who deserve to be in airplane jail would complain for sure. I have seen so many people who thought they had the right to recline the second they sat down and stay like that, even when asked not to. People are jerks.

I wouldn't condone putting people in airplane jail for every little thing, but if someone has to be told not to do something multiple times, they should go in the hole, especially if going against the flight attendant would put them or anyone else in danger.

Oh, that reminds me... when the seat belt sign is CLEARLY ON, and there’s people moving around the main part while it’s bumpy... like wth are you doing?! I don’t care if your kid or you or whatever has to go to the bathroom, hold it or tell them to hold it until the seat belt sign is off. And then the people who don’t follow the rules with their tech either. What’s with people disobeying the rules on a flight? Do they think they are exempt for whatever reason? Smh

They think they're special and the rules don't apply to them. Like, the plane can't take off until they turn their phone off. So they're holding 300 other people up just because they're being selfish. They should go into airplane jail without their phones, lol.

Maybe the seats should be absorbent in case someone can't hold it when the seatbelt light is on. Or people should be made to wear a diaper on the plane just in case.

The seats being absorbent sounds like it would cost a lot of money for the airlines and they wouldn’t agree to it, but everyone wearing diapers on the plane actually sounds pretty funny. LOL. No one would be able to laugh at anyone else because everyone would be wearing diapers.

And yeah, there are different places you should have your phone turned off in life, an airplane being one of them, especially when taking off.

I always finish up my text conversations shortly after I find my seat on the plane. If I'm texting someone, I tell them the plane is going to take off and I will text them when I land.

I generally fly from where I live to Newark a couple of times a year (about a 2 1/2 hour flight) and I usually watch the takeoff and landing, and between the two I usually watch a movie or play games on my phone. I used to listen to music but then I would get too bored pretty quickly, and movies generally keep me entertained for the duration of the flight. I'm not huge on air travel just because I hate waiting for hours for my flight, going through security with crowds of people, flights getting delayed, rude passengers, etc., but I'm always glad that it's way faster than driving! I usually pick a window seat in front of the wing because I like getting off sooner and it has a pretty good view as well.

I generally take my GBA/DS/3DS with me when I fly, although there have been times I haven't even played them. Depending on the plane and the length of the flight, I might try to sleep or watch international documentaries or films (flying from Rome to Hong Kong I transferred in Moscow on Aeroflot, a Russian airline, and learnt a lot about Tsar Nicholas II). I usually try to take the aisle seat, as I don't want to disturb people sitting next to me if I need to use the toilet, but there were times like when I flew from Bangkok to Tokyo that I was thankful I chose the window seat, as the view of Mt. Fuji from above is one of the best I've ever had in my life. I think the worst experience I had was flying from London to Tokyo on Air China with a transfer in Beijing, they banned everyone from using any electronics at any point during the flight, and one stewardess even shouted at a group of Korean guys in front of me for watching films on their phones!

I enjoy it, the last time I was on a plane was last summer to go to Italy which was like a 2 and half hour flight so it wasn't too bad. I just listened to music on my phone. I've only ever done short flights around Europe, but I will probably go to countries like Austrailia or America at some point and probably download some movies and shows to pass the time.
