Alerts when another user posted before you while you were typing.

What if someone needed it to prove something. Example: Someone 1 and Someone 2 are having a fight. Someone 2 insults the whole forums! Someone 1 notices it and PMs it to a mod. While Someone 1 was PMing, Someone 2 deletes his post. When the mod comes in to check, he blames Someone 1 for lying. Sometimes not deleting could be useful.

Or we can all make up a new word that means "(s)he got it before me". Or just edit your post and say Nevermind, he had it first.... So yeah, my opinion.

I see. Well, can't disagree there. But only someone who's butthurt would abuse the delete system like that. I know we usually just edit, but I would still like that alert feature. Besides, if someone insults the forums, you quote them and say "Flaming can get you banned, just chill out dude".

It is entirely possible on zeta boards to enable the deletion of ones own posts for members.

It isn't necessarily needed sometimes though.

The main thing discussed here is the alert system. I know that deleting isn't necessary, but I don't know anything about Zeta Boards. Do tell.
