Anti Noobish

How would this be a big flame war?

There are quite a few members I would think that don't play ACCF anymore, and they want to have discussion with older members.
But like those have said previously, this idea has been tried before.... and well, didn't turn out to be such a good idea.
It turns into some sort of "badge". That these members are better than the ones that do play AC still.

So Noobs are silly, stupid and new.

Newbs are normal people that are new.

I'd just say I'm none. I'm a newcomer, I am mature and serious irl and on the internet, even though I joined in Mid-February, I'm one of the Veterans of tomorrow. Sure, that might sound dumb but hey. Eventually, you'll see me as a very useful guy. I just need to find my calling in this community.

The term 'newb' shouldn't be used, They're just new members. All new members aren't silly or stupid, most of them are mature. But if your saying it's for the people who act silly or stupid aka 'newbs', Then that's pretty sad, You have to try and get on with them instead of flaming. To be honest, Most 'newbs' are young so it's not their fault they act silly or stupid.

No, by noob I meant that typical overused meme that states you're new, but you have no idea what you're doing, post useless stuff, and fail hard at the game.

True that it isn't their fault. I don't flame any Newcomers, but the problem is the term "Noob" is used everywhere when someone is butthurt. Mainly used by people who are "noobs" themselves, they suck at the game and whine too much. Whiney kids are an example of "noobs". Trolls are another problem, every time a new guy joins the party he/she's easy troll bait. Either way, everybody deserves a chance. Eventually you'll be a veteran and respected member, trolls be b&.

tl;dr, Everybody starts out new, don't call newcomers "newbs/noobs" because you know you were one at some point.

Spot on. I know all to well of that. I've been here, a few years now and I've stuck with the place.
And I've gone back and seen how... stupid I was. I'll admit it, my grammar was terrible and I was just a bit dim. =P

Good point, but Gnome would deny that.

Deny what exactly?

Don't speak for him. I'm sure he'd agree with that though. Everyone had spells of being a bit "nooby" however long ago they were.
