I thought it would be interesting to find out how many people on here play an instrument.

I play the guitar (mostly classical, sometimes electric).

Throughout my school years I played trumpet, French horn, mellophone (used in place of French horn for marching band), and briefly played baritone. I still bring out the French horn every now and then but I don't play anywhere near as often as I used to.

i've only ever played recorder at school :>

um & i seem to remember playing a little bit of piano at my grandads place while he was still here... that was only for fun, though....

I used to be a violinist and pianist! I want to take up piano again, but I really suck at reading music and don't have good hand-eye coordination. I'm also interested in learning how to play guitar or ukulele, but again, bad hand-eye coordination and bad at reading music really makes me hesitant.

Go for it! You‘ll never know how you do if you don’t try (again). 😉

I played the violin in my school orchestra as a kid from early elementary school to throughout middle school.

Took a guitar class when I was in high school

Now I've been learning to play ukulele for a year or so

I played the violin (hated it) and piano when I was younger, and then the soprano saxophone in high school. In uni I taught myself to play the ukulele and sometimes I still jammed on the keyboard. I can barely read sheet music anymore though but I can still play the saxophone by muscle memory and by ear kinda.

I do not play an instrument.

However, my dad recently started playing the drums last month. ;)

I do remember playing the recorder in elementary and intermediate school (grades 2-5), but that is about it. :ppp

I also played the flute 😊 Alex learned it and got distinctions in exams. I can play three blind mice and Annie’s song 😂
Oh how cool! That's funny that we both played! I was first chair most of high-school! I had the sugarplum fairy solo when we did The Nutcracker - talk about nervous lol 😅 I still have my Flute, but lost all my sheet music. I do remember how to play a couple of the songs though!

I've been playing piano for... 16 years now? I actually went to college to study music and focus on piano performance, so I would consider myself a professional pianist. I'm hoping to perform with the symphony I'm interning for, once I work my way up there. may also go to grad school for piano performance but idk yet.

I also played trombone in concert band (high school) and wind ensemble (college), been playing since I was in 8th grade.

besides those I've also (regularly) played guitar, violin, and mandolin :)

I started playing the recorder some time in primary school and later moved on to alto Saxophone. Played in an orchestra and big big band for a while. I took piano lessons for a year or so. Currently teaching myself to play the guitar, which is exciting :>

I used to play the flute from elementary to high school, and joined the marching band. I marched in the Rose Parade which is 5 miles long while it was pouring rain. After that I stuck to being a field marcher and that was equally hard work.

Then after high school, I just stopped playing. It's hard when you aren't having lessons, competing in something or have the motivation. I think playing the flute on its own can only do so much and I wasn't going to join concert bands while I was in college.

Wouldn't really call myself an instrumentalist, but I played the recorder and piano when I was in elementary school. I also played a drum at home for awhile and remember being terrible at it. I'm not musically gifted, lol.
