Anyone else LOVE AC New Years?

Every single year without fail since 2010 I have rung in the New Year while playing AC. First it was Wild World, then New Leaf and since last year it's been New Horizons but I wanted to know does anybody else share the same excitement for AC New Years? The ONLY reason I love NYE so much is because of the Animal Crossing Festivities and without them my NYE wouldn't be the same. Its something of a tradition now - Im always on AC when the New Year comes in to let everyone know when that clock strikes 00:00

Every year I sit with my towns and bring in the new year. We don’t go out for new year as I’m disabled. im also not a huge fan of new year so I like that AC has a celebration.
last year for New year, two friends came to my town at midnight and that was fun!

I normally do it one time with each game, but will just then TT to the countdown on the day of. Normally sometime at night between 8-11PM as I usually like to do something else as the actual count-down is happening. Sometimes that something else is just sleeping lol.

I plan on doing it tonight unfortunately I have been fighting a bad sinus infection which is why I haven't been on the forms as much so I will probably time travel ahead so I can go to bed early.

in past games, i've felt about it the same way i did every other holiday tbh, but i love it in NH. it's easily my favorite event in this game, largely because of the cute cutscene/animation where you and your villagers all wave your little glowsticks in time to the countdown >w< i was a little offbeat last year, and probably will be this year, but it's adorable nonetheless.

I like the concept. I’ll be honest, though. I hadn’t experienced New Years on the predecessors. I prefer how my island looks in the summer, so I’ll keep my island in those months. However, my island is in the southern hemisphere. This means that my island is not covered in snow during the countdown. I was able to experience the countdown because of this. I do time travel to keep my island in the summer months.

My favorite part of the countdown are the villagers hanging around Resident Services and talking about the new year. It’s exciting and I love how perky they are. It’s worth mentioning that I absolutely love the glow sticks!

I’ve rung in the New Years with my friends on AC for a few years now since ACNL!

Physically, I’m already in bed with my console (3DS before and now the Switch) and celebrate with my irl friends. Then once we’re done ringing in the new year, we all drank the cider or toast in AC and then went to bed afterwards.

Virtual meetings allows no mess or fuss. We don’t have to change clothes or get ready for bed because we already are

Especially, now with the pandemic, it’s still a fun way for all of us to “see” each other <3

I threw a ACNH New years party for my kids on my island. :3

They all came over to my island, and I had a feast table set up with lots of food, a dance floor and DJ booth party zone, and a big area for wrapped mystery gifts. Then when it was close to midnight, we all went back to our respective islands for the actual countdown and fireworks. It was a blast! ^-^ I'm loving the in game fireworks!

Just celebrated the dawn of New Year's in my town and it was just as awesome all all the others.

Yes! It's one of my favourite events of the year. I do it every year, even if it's on New Years Day because I was busy on New Years Eve.

This year I had a quiet NYE, so I got to ring in 2022 with my babies, and it was lots of fun. I love popping party poppers and lighting sparklers with my villagers :3

I never participated in the countdown in previous AC games. I did it for the first time in this game for welcoming 2021, then again last midnight for 2022. I like dressing up for the event. It's pretty nice and I enjoyed both the dialogue with my villagers and the fireworks.

Speaking of which, fireworks are banned in our area, and the TV countdowns are a bit cringey. So I had the game with me and used it as our countdown instead.

Home sick and don’t time travel, so I got to experience it for the first time tonight. Loved it! Was surprised by all the music changes leading up to the switchover, and enjoyed experiencing all the new dialog and exchanges with my villagers. Really appreciated it since I don’t know if I’ll ever be in a position to enjoy it again (and was very happy to get the Nook Achievement too)

I had more fun celebrating in ACNH this year than in real life.
The celebration just feels so much happier, haha.

I haven't experienced a New Years countdown in New Horizons! But today I saw a clip of it and now I feel like I've missed out greatly. It looks much more exciting than it was in New Leaf. There's always next year, I guess..
